hmmm... I agree up to a point. Eboue is one of the few that will drive at defenders, and modern backs do not enjoy that and have dificulty dealing with it - but the problem is there is absolutely no end product 99.9% of the time from Eboue. He is like a headless chicken at times.Bendtners Drinking Buddy wrote:Eboue was superb yesterday, i still maintain that he is the best player in the squad at running forward with the ball and driving at the defence. We can all see he needs a bit more composure, but there is no doubt he caused endless problems for Sunderland yesterday and we have been lacking that with Sagna in recent weeks.
However, Sagna is the better defender and is also good in the air, so against Stoke i would start him.
I would actually like to see Eboue at left back.
I said years ago that Eboue had good technical ability with the ball at his feet but he has no vision, no composure, no ability to finish or even whip in a decent cross.
Unless he develops some composure (as BDB says) and the ability to score a few goals then for me he is not good enough for an Arsenal team that wants to challenge for serious silverware.

some of u lot must have very short memories.were talking about eboue here, one of the biggest cheats ever to play for arsenal. remember he has been tried and faied misserably playing right side of md. sure he may have a good engine on him, esp coming from right back, but he ONLY ever plays decent games aginst average 2 bad opposition AT HOME. stoke away is not the place 2 put a liliability like him in the team. the only thing he has over sagna is his abailty 2 cross the ball a bit better, but should that give him the nod? no way jose.

voted sagna
ebuoue my MOTM yesterday - I agree with the others who have suggested playing both
stoke is arguably our hardest remaining game
(sperz are a better team but the way we play suits them better as oponents)
we need a big performance and I really don't want to see silvestre in that team
I actually didnt think he was dreadful watching live
then u watch motd and the major chances we give up he always misses a chance to snuff it out
a liability

Don't forget Cafu!brazilianGOONER wrote:i'm a brazilian, and brazilians don't like defending fullbacks who cannot attack. in the land of roberto carlos and daniel alves i like the wingbacks who can run at defenders and help wingers do their jobs. with eboué's current form, i'd like to know your opinion.
important to note that we'll need to be tight at the back against stoke, but as well we seem to be lacking players who have a go at the defenders, so who would you start?
i'm an attacking football lover, so i'd try eboué again.

Sagna because Eboue does more damage in their box but I would rather trust Sagna with the rough and tumble bollocks that Stoke will give us next week. Just hope we grow a pair next week. An early stamp on the wrist of a prone Delap would not be frowned upon too much buy me. Almost worth a red card.....I said ALMOST.

I like defenders to defend and am worried Eboue would get caught up field too often therefore id have SagnabrazilianGOONER wrote:i'm a brazilian, and brazilians don't like defending fullbacks who cannot attack. in the land of roberto carlos and daniel alves i like the wingbacks who can run at defenders and help wingers do their jobs. with eboué's current form, i'd like to know your opinion.

I would actually play Sagna right back and Eboue in front of him at right midfield, Sagna is the better out and out defender and can win a header so will be useful against Stoke, Eboue will be good to run at their defence as like Sunderland they wont cope with that.
What we dont need is Walcott playing, he will be scared stiff of them, plus he is useless and a complete waste of time, as he was for 99% of the time again saturday
