You made a very wise choice my friend. I suggest though that you purchase some DVD's of Arsenal's history, then you can understand why we all feel the same.

The best one that I can recommend to you is this one:-

Happy viewing, and welcome once more to you.

Boomer will love this....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sooners

:D

The term Boomer relating to Oklahoma refers to participants in the "Boomer Movement," white settlers who believed the Unassigned Lands were public property and open to anyone for settlement, not just Indian tribes. Their reasoning came from a clause in the Homestead Act of 1862, which said that any settler could claim 160 acres (0.65 km2) of public land.[3] Some boomers entered and were removed more than once by the United States Army.

Pikeys!!!! :D

Welcome aboard, bro.
Enjoyed your story and commend your intelligence and taste (not something we New Zealanders usually associate with Americans... ).
Cheers.

eh wikipedia...

The terms "boomer" and "sooner" refer to those participating in the Oklahoma land runs. They would open up acres of space and let people stake their claim on a first come first serve basis. There was a starting line and once the starting shot was fired people would literally race to find the best land available. The people who waited for the shot were called "boomers" and the people that cheated and left before the start were labeled "sooners".

Being that the land runs were a big part of Oklahoma history the University of Oklahoma wanted to choose either "boomers" or "sooners" as their nickname. They left it up to the student body at the time and the students voted for "sooners" (I've been told just because it sounded better more than any actual historical meaning).
