STOKE CITY THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

with stoke playing citeh in the cup, we will be fully rested. Considering the league game between stoke and city was a bit lively, it wouldnt suprise me if there were a few knocks. It is nice to finally play a team with a full week off and hopefully we can use this to our advantage.

all this talk of playing eboue in this or any game is doing my head in. havent u lot been watching arsenal the past 3 or so years with eboue in the team :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: i wouldnt play eboue in any away game, let alone against a physical team like stoke. play eboue at your peril, mark my words...

Dont get why people think stoke are 'lucky', basically thay are good at what they do, think they will do us as they are much stronger, bigger, tougher than us, 2-1 stoke

if that was true, we'd be 20th in the league right now, and not 3rd, mate

I dont see many midgets in their side, do you? Also they will kick us all over the park, once they do that we wont want to know

nah nah look . Last season stoke literally stayed back and owned us via the long throws yes? Fuller. 2-1 they won at their home. BUT THIS was at the time we were on a really bad run, losing to city and villa ...

THis season,..they outplayed us at the same stadium but hey we had half our squad! . All the defenders were weakened ones.

At home btw i see no 'long throw' affecting us, we won 4-0 and 2-0 at home.

This away fixture we shall ease past them .

To be honest I wouldn't mind seeing them kick us off the park, if they concentrated all their efforts solely on Denilson.

I just hope we're focused for this game and that the players have the right belief and desire.

Its a toss of a coin which team turns up we could turn them over easily or get bullied off the pitch

Hopefully we will look sharp and effective in the final third, and that maybe the defeat earlier on in the season will not mentally unbalance the side, also we must look technically very good and I'm sure we will give our all until the end of the season...while we are on the AW buzz

Perhaps we will play a little bit with the handrake on. I have to say that Stoke are very committed and very strong - you know what you get with them (why do they always fucking beat us then if we know what they're gonna do).

I hope that we don't get a little bit jaded physically in the second half. There's no midweek game or international break to blame it on this time (that will come if we don't beat Porto)

You have to win the battle first with Stoke, they will be aggressive and direct, but if we can match them they have little to offer in terms of skill.
I agree with this Gooner fan and believe we can build up enough momentum and go on a 12 game winning run, like the great run we went on in 97-98 and pip United and Chelsea to the league.
