If Portsmouth cease to exist...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

So explain to me Gremio, how are you such an avid Arsenal supporter? Because you've seen them play on tv a few times?
ok, kid, i'll explain it to you, since you are one of my best friends. i called spudmasher a monoslop because he is saying for irish people to go support their local teams, and that attitude (of telling people to go fuck off and support their local teams) is typical of the monoslops. he was joking, obviously (you can see that by the 'lol' emoticons)

do mind, however, that it was a joke, since spudmasher seems like a nice fella, actually, and not a monoslop. so i was joking too when i called him a monoslop, as he does not deserve your greatness.

do you get it now, child? or do i need to explain it further??
I have to admit I thought you were calling Monostich a Cunt! Mono+slop = Cunt.

so you couldn't understand a comment made by a 12-year-old, and the 12-year-old had to correct you and explain it so that you could understand what was being said??

John Anthony Southampton Football Club (nee Portsmouth) Westwood?

All he needs to do is replace the blue squares in his hat for red ones.

Where did I say that I didn't understand your comment?! I simply refused to read on after you'd labelled me "kid".

Read slowly and don't let your emotions flood over the keyboard next time ;)

Anyway, this has gone way off topic, back to discussing Pompey now...

Trophies in the cabinet > Money (for me anyway)

Take Chelsea for example, everyone thought they'd dominate the domestic league and Europe because of it. They haven't though, money doesn't buy team spirit.

Chelsea went down the route of buying ageing players. That is where they went wrong.
I think Citeh will go for the very best if they get fourth spot. They'll be totally unrealistic in their valuations. (They've already been rumoured to be offering £150 million for Torres and Gerrard.)

I hope they don't acheive fourth place this year as doing so would mean they can attract anyone at the right price. They could have Fabregas and Van Persie, Rooney, Cuntcole, Ronaldo, Torres, Gerrard, Eboue  and not blink at the price. It will be a bad day for football, but particularly for the red side of Manchester, if that happens.

Massively.

It will haul us a lot closer to 4th/5th, but more potently will completely re-shape the relegation battle. Apparently the Premier League are going to front-up all Pompey's prize money between now and the end of the season + their parachute payment just to keep them afloat. Come 10th May (Dennis Bergkamp's Birthday, no less), the PL won't give a flying fuck about Pompey as they'll no longer be their responsibility.

It'll be a bad day for all of Europe's top clubs, and also push a further wedge between the richest and poorest club. No-one wins.

What I want to know is... what happens when EVERY club has a rich arab running them? And if Mansour is so rich that money means nothing to him, why aren't City tickets free? :?

It's scary but I am quietly happy with City having all that money, it's spiced up our derbies again (and Liverpool are worried about not making 4th spot which is just the icing on the cake!)
