As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Just seen the comments about reinvesting the profits in property... I'm guessing this is all the derelict buildings to the south of the stadium.
I'm struggling to see what can be built here to give a quick return on our profit... flats would probably be the quickest, but if it was a Casino, Hotel, something like that... it would take DECADES to realise any profit.

I cant believe we are going to be buying and selling more property!!! The highbury flats i understand but that should be the end of it and everyone in the club concentrating on the football side of Arsenal plc
BG, fair play, I know you're an optimist mate, but top three for the next 3 years? Not in our wildest dreams, not without significant investment in players.

I'm pretty sure they already own pretty much everything between the bottom of the stadium to Bryantwood Road, from Benwell Road to the rail line...

Do they own the cheeky litle hand shandy shop opposite The Armoury?

i believe so, mate. liverpool is getting a lot worse, manshitter is getting old and worse, chelsea is getting old and moaninho nor ranieri are here to find an essien, a drogba and a cech again.
i think man shitty is the only really improving team and i'm still confident we'll be stronger for next season.
look at the gap between top 3 and 4th-7th place now

It's very concerning to see the quote
The club said it would consider investing future surplus cash in club projects and infrastructure both in and around the Emirates Stadium.
That is very worrying indeed as I want to see the club say 'First and foremost, funds will be made available to strengthen the first team squad where necessary'.
It kind of proves a point that we are being run more as a business (albeit quite well) rather than a football club. Yet again, if the club just came out and said we have to be very prudent for 3 years to manage our debt down to almost nothing, then I'm sure most people could accept it more, but we continue to be told by the board and Wenger himself that money is available for players? Doesn't make me feel very optimistic about the team for the next couple of seasons.
We did all think that the grove would cause us to be a bit stringent. I thought we'd turned the corner when we bought Arshavin but maybe not. Maybe we're still in the eye of the storm. If so then we're not doing too bad, in fact quite well. But as we've all said before I wish the club would say this is a tight period.

So we stand a good chance of staying in the top 3 because our rivals are getting worse not that we are getting better.... Thats a poor show if true

True to a certain extent. BUT those rivals will address their weaknesses by spending in the next transfer window. Will we...? I doubt it...
