Mrs lager, who knows a bit, says that its vital Rambo hasn't broken his ankle as well as his leg.

She said as soon as Eduardo did his that he would come back but be injured all the time (sighting various physologial reasons too long winded for here) and as it turned out she was proved correct.

Whilst horrific it would be better, long term, if Rambo has only broken his tibula and / or fibula.

GET WELL SOON RAMBO!!!
Yep, case in point was the chance that Eduardo missed, he appeared that he had one eye on the challenge coming in on him at the point of shooting (with his incorrect foot, he should have shot with his right foot), these are chances he was putting away with ease pre-injury.

I need to be enlightened here. Is the entire world against the Arsenal? Because I post a few opinions on the horror tackle on Ramsey in places like Youtube and everyone freakin' slates me for it.

I merely pointed out that it is because X-rated tackles are prevalent in the English football game that injuries like this are just WAITING to happen. And what's worse is that it occurs ever more frequently in games where the Arsenal plays. Mentioned that our team needs more protection and soon after, everyone was just waiting to freakin' kill me for that statement.

What have we done to deserve such scorn??

I'm not really sure why the media refuse to show these incidents again and at least give viewers an opportunity to decide for themselves whether or not we think it was intentional. I have it on Sky+ anyway.

I'm still unsure from the replay, as both players seem to arrive at the ball at the same time. My immediate reaction was also that Shawcross was genuinely upset and that hasn't changed. But as Wenger said, deliberate or not, it reflects the way Arsenal are allowed by weak refereeing to be manhandled and it's inevitable sooner or later something like this happens.

For now my thoughts are with Aaron Ramsey, a pleasant young man and exceptionally talented young footballer. I just hope he makes a full recovery and whilst I'm pleased about the way the boys responded, and the belief that they are truly a team and genuine title contenders, I feel only sadness this morning.

Dunno how popular this comment is going to be but; fair play to the stoke player who comforted him and stopped him looking at his own leg after the challenge (Glen Whelan I think) Someone had to do it, and he did.

On the challenge itself; just because he was distraught about it afterwards, doesent mean he didnt mean to inflict any damage.

And another thing, which perhaps people who have been more intimatley involved with the game over the years might be able to help clear up for me; Why do people blindly accept it when managers of all stripes claim that no player goes out to hurt another player? Surely players have allways done this?

And one final thing, funny how this is getting so much less attention than the Gallas incident against Pie Munchers FC a few weeks back; fookin' hypocrites!

Although replays showed Gallas getting the ball first? And had we been kicking Bolton around the whole game?

When it happened, although I wasn't near the stream to have seen it clearly, I knew it was bad. The players reactions obviously turned there stomachs. I'm sure an Arsenal player stamped and gesticulated as if to say 'why again?". Tommy V looked physically sick.

I'd turned white in the whole moment. Plus my daughter was about to have her tea and didn't want her or anyone else seeing it! If the players thought it was bad I don't want my wife or 3 year old seeing it.

Personally thanks to Mrs B for the short of Rum. I'm still on it and feeling a bit more chilled but my thoughts are really with Aaron.

I have seen it but any injury of that type of nature I have to see. I'm glad I did as it (hopefully) doesn't seem as bad as Eddie. Still bad though.

I just hope unlike Eddie he doesn't lose his bottle when he returns.
Let's hope for a speedy recovery. javascript:emoticon(':hail:')

I must say that I consider ED to playing his way back. He needs a run of games to be honest. Plus I would say the 4-3-3 system doesn't play to his strenghs basically.

how long until we hear news on how the surgery went?? from what I remember Eduardos update was very quick, hopefully we hear some good news within the next couple of days!!!

Also all this about Shawcross not having a bad bone in his body is a load of rubbish, last season he done adecashwhore when he was a yard off of the pitch who then missed a couple of weeks.

"The Frenchman raged: 'Do you think Delap tried to play the ball when he tackled Walcott? Or that Shawcross tried to play the ball when he tackled Adebayor off the pitch. All the players have been injured deliberately.'

Very sad for Ramsey. Hope he has a quick recovery, and play to the potential we've seen.

After the comments about 3 in 5 years, I was wondering why there are no pictures or videos of Diaby's leg break in 2006? I never actually saw what happened to him.

Arsenal official statement said Rambo is out for the rest of the season for sure and possibly longer but they cant evaluate at this stage.

The injury is a break of the tibia and fibula (two bones in the lower leg). No ankle damage mentioned which is good. Surgery successfully reduced the fractures (basically that means re-aligning the bones so they're in the right place - this is good news as it means there was no splintering, only two clean breaks).

I wouldn't really like to speculate too much but I'd estimate Rambo will be in plaster for 3 months, and then another 3 months of rehab, muscle building and light training. A month or two of reserve games and full training and he'll be ready in around 7-8 months for first team selection. Fingers crossed.
