What broke Rambo's leg???

What broke Rambo's leg???

Post by CraigPollard »

Hi All,

I assure you the question is not as stupid as it sounds...

Has anyone else seen people on the net claiming that Rambo's leg actually broke on impact when he was running and not when Shawcross tackled him?

I have so far seen pictures (which can obviously be photoshopped etc), but even looking through the vids in slo-mo, he leg does actually look a bit fucked as he plants his foot.

I sincerely hope someone here has a vid they can point me to that proves my eyes are deceiving me!! I would hate to think that Shawcross comes out of this completely innocent!

I wont post pics directly as they are hardly nice viewing but have a look at this one and then dig about the net and you'll see where i am coming from....

Get well soon Rambo!

I took the link from a comment on the Arsenal Insider site... i cannot vouch for its authenticity... :(

There seems to be no clear video footage to suggest either way, and im sure if it was true someone would have picked up on it and reported it, but it has made me think....

It is not impossible for a bone to break under the weight of the body, so taking into account how quickly it happened, i can only assume there is a small chance that Rambo planted his foot on an angle, breaking the tib and fib milliseconds before impact from Shawcross

As i said previously, even the video footage, looked at frame by frame gives an indication that all was not great before the tackle - this is why i am hoping someone can direct me to something of higher quality that shows the severity of that fucking "tackle" which has crocked one of our greatest young talents!

that pic is taken after the incident
1. Shawcross is firmly on his arse not flying through the air like he was at the time of the horrific challenge.
2. Look how far the ball is away from the actual players? a good few yards.

Beat me to it Pingu.
Rambo won the intial ball, hence why the balls now 5 yards further.

The leg was broken but Shawcross and this pitcture was taken secs after.

The most laughable 'theory' I have ever heard.

You do not clean snap your tib and fib by standing funny. I cant believe people actually take this seriously.

It'd be a bit of a coinsidence for Aaron to break his leg in a freak accident milliseconds before Shawcross made contact with the point of the break.

Yeah ok all, a fair amount of expected piss taking... :barscarf:

It appears the Stoke lot are lapping up the possibilty Ramsey broke his leg on impact rather than by Shawcross.

I assure you i am not looking to prove this conspiracy theory - in fact, the total opposite.

Just thought it was worth looking into....

Oh, and it is possible to break a tib and fib by landing awkwardly - the fib is very thin when compared to the tibia, so if someone went over on their ankle and managed to put enough pressure on the tib to break - the fibula would soon follow - once again, im saying this is highly unlikely, but by no means impossible!

I agree it is possible to break the leg like that just by landing funny, i seem to remember seeing a video of it happening in boxing or wrestling? or both actually? If the angle is funny and the pressure is enough it can break! Also didnt Djibril Cisse do his just running down the line and it went?

I actually saw that picture in the paper at the weekend and thought it looked like it was breaking before Shawcross went through him...im not sure what happened to be honest, it would need a close up video of it actually happening!

Yeah, Cisse's studs dug in the pitch as he change direction, his weight shifted awkwardly and the he sustained a tib + fib break.

YouTube is filled with vids of people running and their legs snapping

At least when i snapped mine, it involved a 40mph impact into the side of a car!

Larrson broke his running with the ball.
Still in the case of Ramsey, Shawcross broke his legs.
