I think it's just a matter of pride coming from "lesser" nations and showing how far they have come and made it.I mean I would argue that most of the african players(if not every one of them) have come from extreme poverty and as well as showing pride in their country it shows the kids back home how far they can go and that the players have never forgotten their roots.

Boots aren't part of our kit either but after years of different designs and colours, some of them outlandish hey Nik B?! , they're more accepted in the game.
