Just like Theo then for England! Walcott is a big big part of why England are at the WC Finals. But, like Henry at that time, he's being played out wide and isn't perhaps progressing as quickly as we'ld like. But lets put it this way, I'ld like Theo not to go to the WC, give him a good rest and then hopefully have him fully fit at the start of the season. Then lets see what he can do.Admitted he had a poor spell at Juve, but he was already a France regular and was hugely influential in France's earlier group games in 98' finals before picking up an injury.

I think Walcott still has what it takes. Not everyone blooms while they are young! Fabregas, Messi yeah and thats why they're special. Walcott could be a relatively late bloomer, all I ask is for another year or two! Once he starts playing on a consistent basis, we've got OUR OWN messi!
Let the expectations die down a lil, lets not ask too much from him and im sure he will do well.

Theo had a good game yesterday and gave Bendtner two or three chances practically on a plate. I've spotted people comparing him to Lennon and Young both of who are older and more experienced than Theo, when Ashley young was 20 he had only played a dozen or so games for Villa.
Yes Theo hasn't progressed as quickly as Fabregas, Messi or Rooney but who the hell has?! They are all candidates for the best starting eleven in the world...
Give him a chance and compare him to his peers. Lennon has played 186 games for Sp*rs in five seasons and scored 18 goals, Walcott by comparison has played 126 over five seasons and scored 17 goals...
Given that Lennon is a first choice player for them and 57 of Walcott's appearances are from the bench if you break it down by playing time then I'd suggest Theo has the better record and this from a lad two years younger.

It's not that he hasn't progressed as quickly as Fab, Rooney and Messi, Theo hasn't progressed at all, thats the problem and he doesn't look like he is going to with us, in fact sometimes he looks like he is going backwards..realsan wrote:Theo had a good game yesterday and gave Bendtner two or three chances practically on a plate. If AW hadn't spent as much money on him he would be long gone by now, because he doesn't really fit in with our style of play, he rarely performs up to standard and he's injury prone..the reason why even when he is fit Wenger either doesn't start him or doesn't give him a whole game is because he doesn't offer enough to warrant him being on the pitch.
If you read Waddles article on theo it says it all and i have no doubt AW has been thinking the same for a couple of seasons now, his days are numbered...
I do agree with you re Theo and I feel pretty much the same. I'm not sure his days are numbered though as it does feel as though Theo is his pet project that he will keep persevering with. At present I don't see it at all with him but he may become a winger if he develops a brain. The media also have a vastly inflated opinion of him which is why they've spent all week knocking him down.Bergkamp-Genius wrote:It's not that he hasn't progressed as quickly as Fab, Rooney and Messi, Theo hasn't progressed at all, thats the problem and he doesn't look like he is going to with us, in fact sometimes he looks like he is going backwards..realsan wrote:Theo had a good game yesterday and gave Bendtner two or three chances practically on a plate.
