NASRI. Fit for a CAM role.

Post by RoyalGunner »

First thing is first. Great win. I mean I am excited to state for the first time in a couple months I was happy with the way Arsenal played against Porto. Keep it up Gunners...and PL victory and a champs trophy may be ours.

Samir Nasri reminds me all too much of a young Zinedine Zidane....straight down to their heritage.
Last game he played well dropping into midfield for Cesc, and last night showed this is his natural role.

When the Boss was asked about Nasri in the midfield:
"If I ask him, he will want to play there, don’t worry. So I don’t ask him. He can play there, but when Fabregas comes back, [Nasri] will play wide."

Now why wouldn't he consider Nasri pairing with Cesc? With the likes of Arshavin Left and Walcott/Rosicky/Eboue Right....

Nasri needs to play in a Central Attacking position because he was born to play this position, and with all the potential "wide" players we have, there are already too many options.

Your thoughts Gentlemen?

He's very different to Zidane though, Nasri's quicker but he's not the same class as Zidane (he was from another planete). I still think he could be a winger, even if he doesnt like it. His goal shows he can pass players and score wonderfull goals from the wing, he just needed confidence, and now he's got it.

But Nasri (or Rosicky) in midfield with Cesc would be great too :)

It's not that I am opposed to Nasri playing on the wing....he has shown that he can run at defenders from the wide position and score...however, he does show incredible talent in the midfield by roaming around and delivering nice balls to Arshavin. Nasri has a lot more space working in the midfield IMO.

How it is usually....Cesc is the only one feeding balls forward. Nasri could compliment him in this role.

I dunno about you but id like to see Arshavin and Walcott on the flanks rather than Nasri.

He was pure class last night. Its a shame we have so many talented midfielders though as i'd like to see Cesc, Diaby, Song, Nasri and Ramsey when fit all in the same team but it wont.

I had my doubts about his ability to take that role but he was impressive yesterday, including that fantastic goal, I'm hoping he keeps it up until Cesc returns.

Blimey slow down fella. Nasri looks like Zidane!!
One solid game and yes he did play well but knowing our lot if he has a shocker then he's the next Gus Ceasar.
