England's Hopes (or lack thereof)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

England's Hopes (or lack thereof)

Post by H4x »

So the national side have been thrown an unlikely lifeline by Israel, with Macedonia putting their 2p in as well. But does anyone actually think we'll qualify? Dunno about you but I have this overwhelming gut feeling that they'll somehow fuck it up.

Views, people?

I stand by my hope that England qualify for the simple reason that I don't want all those manu and chelsea f**ks to be getting a summer off in 2008.

It's comical to see the view change from "Russia are bound to beat Israel" (which they weren't) to "England are already there" (which they aren't).

England probably will qualify, but with only one half-decent (quarter-decent?) forward in Peter Crouch, it could get interesting if Croatia score first.

This match will be Porto-Arsenal's last 10 minutes style of play, but for 90 minutes.

That's true but how nice wouldn't it be having a WC without having to watch the faces of Lampard & Ferdinad? Or hearing how fantastic Rooney is everytime he completes a 3 yard pass? It would almost be worth it!

Never, I could get £200 on ebay for my ticket so it had better be a cracking game and we'd better bloody win! (or draw at least anyway! - preferably not a 0-0!) :o

Who really cares. Six months of hype about how great Gerrard,Fat Frank and Rooney are,It will be the same old story get to the quarter finals lose on penalties(again). As Perry Groves said on the radio Israel"s win means England are stuck with McClown for another 5 years. They deserve each other.

Like the avatar Daniel D, nice one.

And England will qualify, i also thought walcott should of been called up into the squad instead of bent.
