Don’t forget what Thierry Henry did for us (20/11)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Don’t forget what Thierry Henry did for us (20/11)

Usual thread starter… I think it’s only in a few seasons’ time that the real impact of such players as Henry and Bergkamp will be appreciated. Although maybe when Setanta get Arsenal TV going and they show the odd pre-Wenger Premiership game, the contrast between what was and what followed will be impossible to miss. I hope they show a few duff games as well, just for historical interest! Doubt it though, doesn’t make for good viewing really does it? Away defeats up north when we mustered a single effort on target.

It's like when a long term relationship ends - in a few years time you might look back with fondness but it's too soon.

You'd rather bang on about the new great young thing you've got now she's gone and hope she dies of loneliness.

Though I think we're gonna win a few things in the years to come - I doubt were gonna see an individual talent like that for a good long while if ever.

I for one will never forget and have been amazed at some of the stuff written on different sites about Thierry.

Mr Henry - I salute you

Excellent article - shame on you ed for holding it back for so long - but still means a lot. Would read better without the duplicate paragraph...Rob

A very good article. Thierry Henry is a legend for Arsenal: statistics, records and achievements all prove it.

I'd like to ask you, gooner.ed, is that a picture of you or someone else?

well the reason i use him is because he won the nobel peace prize for - i think - negotiating a middle east peace settlement. and at times i have to step in to calm things down a bit. he seemed quite apt at the time. and he's kind of grown on me. could be a right villain for all i know, but i am sure he did win the nobel peace prize. if he didn't, i'll look at changing it one of these days.

Without looking anything up for complete accuracy he did win the prize in the early seventies. He has since been implicated in some uunsavoury dealings regarding Vietnam, cambodia and Indonesia while he was part of the US administration.. A lawsuit was brought against him, but I'm not sure whether it still continues.
