PRE GAME BARCA THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Great chance of winning.

This is the shop window and a test that our players will be up for. This isn't going to be a rainy night, away to northern cloggers. This is a couple of games where it's advised to have a box of tissues handy.

Beating Barca at their own game will add a few quid to the weekly wages of our kids.

Playing them at their own game is basically suicide. We're not as good as them, simple, and Wenger has to realize this quickly. We need to harass and bully them into submission if we're to have any chance of getting a result. Though I'm sure all Wenger's going to tell the players is to "go out zer enjoy yourselves and play ze bootiful futbawl". :banghead:

Must admit, my first thoughts were:
FUCK!!! WE GOT BARCA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, cooling down a bit, we have got a good chance of getting through this tie.
They will let us play footy to an extent, but they're good at closing down, too.
If we concede at home we're in trouble, obviously.
What's the bloody bet we smash Barca and then drop tamely out in the semi...
Oh, Arsenal we love you!

A certain Pep Guardiola said after the draw had been made:

“Arsenal were the very last team we wished to draw.â€

I have a extremely good feeling about the match at home. I think we will win, but I consider we need to do it by two clear goals.

Unfortunately I don't think otherwise we would be competitive on their patch for the return leg. Messi & Co could run riot. :? :x
