Carlos Vela News

Post by LDB »

Although I'm sure this has been adressed before I reckon this article deserves some special attention:

http://carlosvelanews.co.uk/2010/03/22/ ... r-gunners/

Especially this quote
With the time running against Carlos for a World Cup spot in the Mexico roster, there are now seriously doubts that he will make the Mexican Squad and of course Wenger would be then the guilty man for a lot of Vela and Mexico supporters.

It's his own fault he's so shit. Can't believe there was all that hype when his loan expired in Spain and he'd be like a new signing.

spends too much time travelling to/from internationals, too much time injured, not enough time applying himself when he is on the pitch, less he might get a hair out of place or his shirt dirty.

He needs more strengh and a better end product.

However is is still young, and even our beloved Csec made some pretty poor errors early on. That said he had G. Silva and Viera around him then..!!

he needs to be loaned out to a blackburn/bolton side - where he can learn the rugged side of the game - he already has the beautiful playing style now he needs to toughen it up and no better place to start then at one of those bottom side clubs

I don't think you can even compare Cesc and Vela at the same age. There really is no comparison on the pitch whatsoever.

Especially if you compare the actual amount of game time they've had. I think people are being a bit harsh on Vela considering the limited opportunities he's been given. Even when he has played, it's either been with a shadow team in one of the domestic cups, or a brief spell as sub.

I agree that the International call-ups cause a problem for him and us, but what are you going to do - ban him from going? I definitely feel that Vela has the ability to make an impact in our team and in this league - although I'll accept he hasn't done so to as much an extent as we'd like. However, I still believe in his talent and think that he is well worth persevering with. 8)

Carlos Vela...I'm sure I've heard this name before...but can't remember where and when??!! I'm sure that there are some supporters that still think that we don't have any player wearing the number 12 since Lauren left!!!

But more seriously, this guy isn't a premier league player...he can try his luck in Spain or Italy..but he'll never make it in England (a part maybe in carling cup games against sheffield or cardiff city)!!! each time he was given the opportunity to impress this season, he failed... we spent a period with van persie and bendtner being out, and Eduardo being shit in front of goals (he still is btw!!!)..Instead of showing us what he is able to do during those games, he was absolutely shit...Since then, Arsene never gave him a chance again...Plus, if you add to this the fact that he spends hours in the plane travelling and always coming back tired or injured...Honsetly, he was one of the most useless players we had in the squad this season (even Mannone was more useful!!!!) and that's a pitty cause the lad is talented...and I don't see him being given a chance next season with the arrival of one more striker in the squad !!!

Great talent. Would hate to see him sold as he's going to become a cracking player somewhere in my opinion. Hope it's at The Arsenal.
