As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
They are saying to use the heathrow express but the First Great western train is about half price takes about 10 mins longer and you have to change at Southall.
I know there are loads of Gooners who come up on the train from the South and SW through Woking. Basingstoke is shut this weekend so really difficult to get up from there, Winchester, Southampton, Bournemouth, Andover etc http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/download/ ... 004800.jpg
Alright Chippy going to see a friend in Bristol on 12th of December any news on delays etc for the London to Bristol express? Does it have a buffet car? sorry mate couldnt resist
I have been a transoprt nut all my life I have worked in the logistics industry for 30 odd years, big trucks, sheds, planes, trains, this is where i could do with the Homer drool emoticon.
I have had so much urine extracted in my life that I could fill the Irish sea
I wasn't trying to make you feel bad i was making thepoint that there is nothing you could say about me being a sad git that hasn't been said many times before and often by me!
Or were you saying sorry mate in the way you might to someone who's just told you they've got a terminal disease
Chippy If you are talking about travelling from heathrow, isn't there another rail service that goes from heathrow to paddington without changing in around 30 mins. It's just I've used heathrow quite a few times and used this service.
Still, Heathrow Express is nice if somebody else is paying for it!
It is the First Great Western one I was talking about. In the timetable it is shown as a not direct service. I know sometimes it is but i wasn't sure how it would work on Saturday.
This is a bastard trick to get more people to use the horribly expensive Heathrow Express.
It cost something like £15 one way! Quite an incredible price. Have used it a few times before - couple of times when I had a good enough job that my company paid for it - and once coming back from North Africa on a Sunday morning, prior to us playing Everton. Needed to get back quickly so that I could get the requisite 3 hours drinking time in
Not the 7-0. It was a Sunday at 4pm, 2003 - can't remember the exact score but Im sure we won. It was just before the FAC QF replay at Chelsea which we won 3-1.
