Arsenal appeal Vermaelen sending off ( ban stays in place )

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

And if he does get off, oh well thatd be cool too.
I'm afraid that for me, this is the attitude that will see us dropping unexpected points somewhere.

If we cant beat WOLVES at HOME without vermaelen, we dont deserve to win the league.

Its NOT a violent conduct charge its a professional foul charge, therefore he WILL NOT get an additional match ban.

If he wins the appeal...good
If he loses the appeal he will just miss Brum away....and WILL NOT have an additional ban.

Ferdinand was bang to rights with his suspension and it was due to the Cup match vs Man Shitty that had the FA call the frivilous thing....

Thomas wont get additional game....so dont panic

there was incidents yesterday in the pool utd game and bburn chelsea game where 1st mascherano brought down valencia and didnt get sent off and in the other game samba brought down anelka and no free kick was given. In sambas case he was last man back and anelka was heading for goal with no other defenders near by should have been a freekick and a sending off .Shows up the inconsistency between referees and their decisions so i think if arsenal use these examples theres a good chance he will get off. Then again

no no no....ill be shocked if it gets overturned.

it was not a sending off, but there was a slight hand used before he fell over.

we should of just got on with it.

a 2 game ban is on its way.

It was Martin Atkinson that was the ref right? Has he made any comment on it after viewing it again I wonder. What he thinks will make or break the decision coz if he says he stands by the decision there's no way the FA will over rule him.

Forgive me if I sound thick, but has TV only been handed a one match ban? I thought a straight red was 3 :?

He was way off his line but hey, what 'keeper doesn't take a few steps forward when facing a penalty. ESPN kept on replaying it and by Alumina was so far forward that he was in line with the shadow cast by the crossbar.
