As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
ive done my research, says the Anchor, which i went last time and seemed a small pub, (i went with Dicko) and then the Wellington, anyone been there before?
The Anchor is a little bit small so The Wellington is probably the best bet for you.
The Square Peg is a Wetherspoons (down the New Street ramp and straight up Corporation St) or The Trocadero (Temple St, down ramp, left then right). Not been in either on matchdays so cannot vouch for safety.
If you're (relatively) smartly dressed then head to the Mailbox and Pennyblacks with Sky TV. Shouldn't be a problem in there.
Stick to the Wellington though IMO. Especially if you like real ale.
does the Wellington do ya normal lagers and normal ciders?! and i say any weatherspoons is safe matchdays. ive been to one for West Ham, and in Manchester Picadilly for Man City, and Liverpool City centre. and ur right, i remember the anchor being a small pub!
The Anchor is right next to the coach station we're coming into according to google maps street view so I suppose I'll be in there at least some point. The Wellington looks pretty good though. Wouldn't mind sampling a black country ale, although I don't know if I can resist not getting a Guinness...

There's many exits, but exit onto New street, as it's the main shopping street.
Get off your train, go up the stairs, and exit through the barriers - go up the escalators into the Palasades/Bull Ring shopping centre, and first left, then first right and you're out of the shopping centre and onto New Street.
If you've managed that, well done - you now deserve a pint!

Probably too late now but come out of New Street via the way above, then down the ramp. There'll be a huge long road straight ahead of you (Corporation St). Just keep walking down it until you reach The Square Peg. Easiest 'Spoons to find.
