What Forgotten Rock Classic

Post by goonersid »

With the recent re-surfacing of Journey's "Don't stop believin". What should be the next forgotten rock classic to have modern day success.
I always thought Kansas' "Carry on my wayward son" would make a great advertising anthem. What you lot reckon.
(i've posted it here to get noticed before taking it's rightful place in the basement)

Big tune! Although, it was used in the trailer for Anchorman wasn't it? As well as played in the end credits. I think I first heard about that track on Guitar Hero though. Mini-revival at the least :D

I think it was a bit better than that, I remember I was about 12 (33 years ago) when I first heard it. One of my mates' big brother had the 7" vinyl. We could only play it when he wasn't in, as we weren't allowed near his records in case we'd scratch them.

God I wish we had vinyl more available, cds are crap.
Saying that i have about 600 cd albums and none vinyl,if they were more readily available and reasonably priced (both the record and the player) I would prefer vinyl. My mate and my brother have lots of vinyls and it just sounds better plus the covers are real art not a small little pocket sized thing......and I'm only 25 and think this just in case you think I'm an old fart :-P

I still have all my old AC/DC , Sabbath, etc on vinyl though I don't play them very often now.

I'm one of the few that loved both! Sammy for the more melodic stuff and Dave for the all out ballsy rock (although Sammy can rock too).

The only shit VH album is that piece of crap they recorded with that knobend out of Extreme "singing" on it. Awful stuff. :(

Well a mate of mine stateside went to see VH (with eddies son Wolfgang on Bass) in february and he said they fecking rocked as good as ever...and he's seen them on virtually every tour...Diamond Dave and Fast eddie are back to being good ole mates after all the sort out when Dave shagged eddie's missus...(now EX-missus0....and there's strong possibilty of them touring the UK (that probably mans 4 - 5 dates) in 2011

I saw them in 1974 (Van Halen Invasion Tour) and they were simply AWESOME!

Well they say it's kinda frightening the way this younger generation swings, it's more than just some new sensation
The kid is into losing sleep
He don't come home for half the week it's more than just an aggrevation!

AND THE CRADLE WILLLLLL ROCCKKKKKK!!! :drums:
