TeeCee wrote:Why blame Almunia? Wenger signed him, Wenger calls him world class, Wenger picks him most games. The blame lies at one mans door.
Almunia goes out and does what he does, just because he's shit he's not gonna say 'I won't play today boss cause I'm crap' is he!!??
Still, we'll sign some unknown 20 year old keeper for 2m in the summer and he'll be world class (sic)
I blame them both.
Really, if Almunia had any character at all, he'd say "Enough is enough, I'm doing nothing but fucking up Arsenal FC and its chances of trophies, and it's unfair to my team-mates and the fans who shell out thousands of pounds to follow us. I don't want to be held accountable for dragging everyone else down, so it's only right that I step down".
But instead, he continues to make everyone's life a misery and collects his £40k+ wage packet every week for having a negative impact on his place of work.
Wow, wish I could get that gig.
To be honest, I think AL think himself as a world-class goalie

I'd say it's the other way around, personally. He tries his best, but he's just shit. End of.
really mate? do you blame a workman who tries his best every day, works harder than everyone but in the end is shit, or simply fire him because he is not good enough? almunia should be thanked for his efforts and showed the fucking door, he did try his best. his best is not good enough though, that's what wenger should've realized.
do you go to mcdonalds, eat their sandwich and then go back to the clerk and say "man, your sandwich is shit, fuck you!"?. you simply don't eat there anymore, as it is not good enough for you.

No, I'm in agreement with the fact that he should fuck off.
I think I simply misinterpreted the part of your post that I quoted.

I agree with what you have said. But I think we have no more patience with AL shit quality anymore. His mistakes cost us a season and a season again.
Ppl always said AL works hard for the club. I really doubt it now to be honest. Even a shit goalie like Gomes can show improvement, I don't really see any from AL. He still can't kick the ball (esp for the back pass). He still can't punch. He still can't jump. He always hestiates to come out to clear the ball. So what's wrong of the Fans who want him to leave asap.

i agree that almunia has to fuck off, but that's wenger's call, not his. he will try his best wherever he is, and he will be a wonderful keeper at blackpool or swansea or something like that. he should be shown the door and thanked for his effort. not called a *word censored*, because he tried, but the poor man isn't good enough.
about gomes, believe me, gomes is a good goalkeeper, or at least was until he joined the scum. he was the best brazilian keeper not long ago, so i don't find it strange that he can improve. almunia on the other hand was shit his entire life, only wenger can't see it. there's no way a 32 year old keeper who was shite his whole life will become a brilliant keeper now.
we all agree, almunia is shit and should leave. we disagree on who's fault it is. i think it's wenger's, for keeping him as 1st choice for three fucking years.

But how do you know Given was available to US for £6m?? I don't remember Newcastle putting an ad in the classifieds?!
Citeh may have paid £6m, but is it not possible that if we'd offered £6m, Citeh would have offered £8m?? and if we'd offered £8m, they would have offered £10m???
When you try and outbid a mega mega rich club like Citeh for a player they want, you're always going to lose out.... or fight them all the way, and go bankrupt
I'm not saying Given wasn't availble for £6m, but I don't get how you can be so matter of fact about it! - the truth is, we haven't got a clue!

Great post g88ner. I love the way some on here think they know everything that goes on behind the scenes and think buying a player is as simple as being linked with them in the daily mail. Remember last season how everyone was going on about buying Martins from newcastle? I wonder where martins is now....
Whilst at the game yesterday G88ner and I commented on the Brum keeper Joe Hart. Now for me, he had no chance with the Nasri goal, but one thing was assured his defence knew he was solid and that they could count on him to make the saves when required. The Brum defence was not the best but having that knowledge of a decent keeper behind you helps.
The Arsenal back four are and were far superior yet cagey, it shows doesnt it that no matter how good your defence are the keeper is key.
For me Joe Hart did what he is paid to do. He made three good quality saves and no matter what we think of NAsri's decision when clean through to not shoot but square it, the imposing frame of Hart was enough to put doubt into Samir's mind....THAT for me was key.
Man City are unlikely to sell Hart to a rival, but for me Hart should be wearing the Arsenal number one jersey and with him there titles can be won.
