WENGER WILL NEVER LEARN

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

[quote="goonersid"]Once again Wenger has gambled away any chance of a trophy, his starting line-up today was predictable, as it was exactly the same sort of panic stricken selection we have seen for the past 5 seasons when faced with having to prioritise “must win gamesâ€

What this will boil down to and I am sure GoonerSid will be the first to say it is Wengers quote:

"Judge me at the end of the season"

For me, Arsenal always do things with an element of class. I remember when the Russians took over Chelsea, I said to myself if we had someone who came in and done that for us I would hate it as it is cheating.

At the moment it seems forum members want us to fail as their opinion on Wenger and the club is more important than us actually winning something :banghead:

I was at the game yesterday but knew there would be several threads on my return and one started by GoonerSid, that even though I respect people all have different opinions, his views are more with a personal hatred towards Wenger rather than writing anything constructive!

And whats all this shit about wenger playing a weakened side? He played rosicky for arshavin and walcott for nasri... Hardly fielding the youth team is it?

Nasri is shit away from home and arshavin is hardly in top form at the moment. Weakening the team would have been to not risk B52 after his twisted ankle, or to field silvestre instead of campbell, or not to risk fabregas.
Agree with this.

It all boils down to fucking Almunia and his error that cost us. Nothing to do with team selection.

He tried, but believe it or not, he wasn't considered sufficiently Arsenal-hating enough to get the job!!!  :? Mind you, when you bear in mind the competition....

Gusher I will respond to your post though there are a few more on here which I can't be bothered to.
Please show me a post where I have said Wenger should stay, otherwise shut up!
I can't understand the logic in resting players, in case they might pick up an injury, maybe Wenger is a clairvoyant, well he didn't spot the tackle on Cesc in his crystal fucking ball. Fact is you play your best 11 then pick up whats left for the next game. Simple fucking as! :banghead:

Wenger is a hypocrit,he constantly sprouts that we are going for all 4 competitions but yesterdays line up proved that the C/L is his main priority and has been for the last 5 yrs.

Listen I aint going to get drawn into a heated debate over yesterdays performance/result and everybody is entitled to their opinion but I will say, with all due respect to you, that statement is utter shite  I find it laughable when comments like that are made cos football has never ever been a level playing field financially and it comes out like a childish excuse that wenger would spout  When we bought henry for 11m were we cheating all the smaller clubs in the league who could never afford to spend that money on one player ? Financially there has only ever been a handful of clubs that have more muscle than we have had and people like you will claim that those teams are cheating us just because they have more money than us but at the same time you choose to ignore the plight of those clubs that are not able to compete financially with us and that buddy is total total hypocrisy

I recommend some people take a look at the league table, look at the games to be played and form a decision accordingly. It is going to be difficult there is no doubt but when I see the comments about the manager I guess that can be put down to anger and feelings but when I see comments about gutless players I think what about the minority of our gutless fans who actually think they can question people who risk all for them week in week out. Oh yes, we are all very good at fighting the cause when a player gets tackled badly and injured but when we have the absolute tenacity to draw away at Birmingham, a team incidentally that also drew at home with both Man U and Chelsea, we seem to be bully boys who are all but coward like glory seeking fans. This only sing when your winning mentality is what I and I know many other supporters despise about some of our Arsenal fans, typical short term clowns. I personally respect the need for free speech and opinions but this type of change your view with the weather "support" is pointless. When I look at posters like usualsuspects and gunerspundit I see fans who have been consistent throughout in the same way that fans like Arsenal_al, CC and others have stuck to their reasoning throughout. Like their views or not they are being supportive in their own ways but this pathetic change your view like you change your socks (in some cases) is simply boring. The reality for me is that we have 18 points to go, we cannot change the team so until the summer when changes can be made it is pointless whinging and bitching, personally I will get behind the team 100% until the season ends and I have been around long enough to know that football changes every week and nothing has been decided just yet.

Before the game started i was quite happy with the line up, it should have been more than good enough and although Nasri came on and scored which suggests otherwise, both him and Arshavin have been anonymous in more than enough games to suggest that Rosicky and Theo could have been just as effective, personally i would start with Rosicky ahead of the other three every game.
Any failure to win this game has got to be put down to the team performance not the team selection and whether you want to put that down to Birmingham playing well or us not being good enough on the day is up to you, but the 11 we started with should easily have been good enough to get a result, so it's down to them...
