BARCA GAME THREAD
haven't read through every post so sorry if this is a repeat, but one thing that really wound me up tonight (other then then the obvious stuff) was how clichy has moaned recently how the 4-3-3 formation has hindered his attacking. yet for the whole night i watched dani alves continually have acres of space on the right wing.
yes, he does have more skill going forward then clichy but he had all the space because he actually got there to take advantage of the room given when messi or pedro moved inside. please can clichy be shown a video of how to play as an attacking full back in this formation

OK for what it is worth, first 20 minutes was men against boys, we didn't have a shot until 20 minutes or so from nasri who i thought was absolutely one of our top quality players on the night along with almunia's first half display (unfortunately his decision making when to come and when to stay on his line are his downfall and showed at the start f the second half).
Diaby was shocking and his passing was too slow, song was poor for most of the game, too pedestrian, looks like a sloth (how many free kicks does he give away needlessly?).
Cesc is injured so can't judge him, tv was ok but panicked (as did all 10 outfield players in the first 20 minutes).
eboue did okish when he came on but theo was the man who changed the game, many have slated him on here but the lad has the talent just needs the games and confidence.
Al was man of the match by a zillion miles, if it wasn't for him it would be game over already.
This game overall was a reality check, we are absolutely mile behind the likes of barca......end of.
Time to splash the cash mr W!!!!!
Anyway i am landing in Thailand on the 6th so will have to find a bar to watch the game and give the locals a taste of what it is like to follow the Arsenal

Stop being so negative. We were being hammered tonight. 0-2 and it could easily have been 0-5.... We were travelling to Barca with no hope.
Now it's level. Any sort of win out there and we're through. Ok, so on the evidence of the first 20 mins tonight we're still the underdogs....but the fact that we're going out there with any sort of chance is fucking amazing!
We'll probably still go out. Maybe lose 0-4....or it might just turn into one of the greatest nights in Arsenal's history!

Would much prefer to see Clichy learning to play as a proper full back first before he even thinks bout crossing the half way line. Number of times his defending been shown up this season is beyond a joke.alchyrob wrote:haven't read through every post so sorry if this is a repeat, but one thing that really wound me up tonight (other then then the obvious stuff) was how clichy has moaned recently how the 4-3-3 formation has hindered his attacking. yet for the whole night i watched dani alves continually have acres of space on the right wing.

We are just havng our say and tbh we are right in our negativity, what sort of supporter likes to see their team totally fucking outplayed at home with a mere 30 per cent of persessioon ?MK Gould wrote:Stop being so negative. tbh i would replace both left and right back cos they both couldn't cross a fuckin ball if their life depended on itRossieGooner wrote:Would much prefer to see Clichy learning to play as a proper full back first before he even thinks bout crossing the half way line. 30% possession and a 50% result... if we can get 50% possession next week we're laughing !!LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:We are just havng our say and tbh we are right in our negativity, what sort of supporter likes to see their team totally fucking outplayed at home with a mere 30 per cent of persessioon ?MK Gould wrote:Stop being so negative. Love that emoticom, wtf

I have a theory about the E******s and Barca.
I think it suits them better than it's suits any other team in the world. Our pitch is perfect the Dimensions of the pitch are big and that suits Barca. And it's quiet as hell. Also, there's no pressure on them to put a "show" for the tourists that fill half the stadium in the Nou-camp.
I reckon it will be a completely different game there..
