That really scares me. I'm pretty new here (when it comes to posting anyway) but how would you expect me to 'prove' that I'm a real fan? Anything I say to counter that can be interpreted as "That's what a wind-up-troll would say"

In my humble opinion, you might want to limit posts by new members for the first few months or something (or disallow from starting threads initially) but you shouldn't be closing it down. Why wouldn't you want more fans joining in? Noobs or not.

unless his ip is a fixed (static) address then there is no way you can track his ip and 99 per cent of internet users use a roaming ip address, not a fixed address.
