Almunia appreciation thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
Even if he put's in a man of the match display tonight, (which i doubt) i'd still want him down the road in summer. He's just not good enough to play for our club, sorry but he's not!!
Nothing changed for me, sorry

Thought last night summed up his last few seasons. There has been times it seems like he has turned a corner, making world class saves, match winning performances and then he does something wrong and it all collapses.

Hmmmm, Almunia

I think the saves that he made in the first half last night, are saves that any keeper worth his salt, SHOULD be making. It does make a mockery of the shitness that is Almunia, that we are amazed, that when he makes these saves.

The sooner this *word censored* is sent packing, the better, as he's a keeper who has made far too many mistakes, has cost us points, and just to think, Lehmann made fewer errors, and was soon dispatched. Wenger, please wake up, get rid of Almunia and Flappy, get a quality keeper in, and make
Szczesny the number 2.

Anybody else think Mad Jens put a curse on him with his half time comments??
Not 100% what he said but I'm sure it was through gritted teeth!

Was Lehmann on English TV? I could see him standing there doing an interview, but assumed it was for a German broadcast

M.H. your so right, and I must say I eat my words last night at H/T.

However it is really the way he doesn't control his box, or some decsions he makes that unsettles not only his defence but the whole team.

Sadly, over a season it WILL COST us 10/12 points as I stated before.

Whether AW or anybody listens or cares.. :? :o

The saves he made in the first half were all arms and legs and a lot of luck, he had one decision to make in the whole game and he got it wrong.

What a bunch of pricks in this thread. Saves a keeper should have made? Fuck off they were quality most keepers would of let them in. He was lucky? Fuck off again just because you dont like th eguy stop finding reasons not to give him credit, he played a blinder and coz of him we are still in this.

amazing performance
I see their first as an Almunia mistake -
but his mistake is a reaction to our forwards failing to close Pique
Vermaelen being caught out of position obsessing over Messi
Song reacting to that too slowly and being slow to cover

just that naturally people focus on the keeper error as it's the last one

their second despite being near post is a very good finish IMO

More of the same shot-stopping second leg please Manuel
and we may just have a chance

FFS Seamo  I would tell him in no uncertain terms to fuck off! then when he came at me I would evade him at his near post or run between his legs, or if he did mamage to grab me then I'm sure he would allow me to slip between his fingers.
