I'm not dreading December so much now!!

I'm not dreading December so much now!!

Post by mike »

Before today I was quietly worried regarding Decembers fixtures. With all but 2 games away from home (all of which are out of the south east!!) and the 2 home games being tricky also, I felt we could have possibly dropped severly off the pace, but we have a little cushion now, and the pressure will be off slightly. 3 points clear with a game in hand can't be bad going in to a tricky period!!

I'll say it before and i'll say it again, If we're there or there abouts come the New Year, Its game on boys!! C'ON YOU GOONERS!!!

Agree with you there Mike, if we can come through December and still be within a point or two of the top then we will be in with a chance of pushing for the title and I will be a happy bunny :D :D :D

Dec could hurt us badly, cold pitches, the only home games against a strong Chelsea and a "they have to win sometime" Spurs, very difficult away games, this is a real test for us. Get there still within a shout of the title, I'll be pleased

We'll have to wear portable radiators - or get our reserves to run around these pitches to warm them up.

You're not dreading December? Nice one. I wish I could share your confidence, however, I can't. I'm fucking dreading it because I'm really worried that we'll come unstuck. I still am not convinced that we're championship material, but I am very pleased with how we're doing, and long may it continue.

I think that if we're top in January, then people will have to start taking us seriously. Until then, let's just take it one step at a time. No one saw this magnificent start to the season coming in July, so let's just enjoy it.

i saw it comming when we got rid of thierry , we are no longer a 1 man team, i seriously think we can do something really good this season, only thing we need to avoid is silly suspensions and injurys, the only problem could be decembers crammed fixtures, and the main reason the december fixtures will still be the test is we have 7 games, then new years day we have west ham who done us home and away last season, so far we are 1 betterthis season.

our tests in december/january will be
everton on todays performence
tottenscum pompey and west ham on the 1st of jan, then after west shambles *hopefully* birmingham, geordies agen and bburn the only place we gave away 2 points, other then our first few tests of hoofdaball, and manure.

As TS says, one step at a time.

The good thing is we know we can beat anyone, and the players continue to show real belief, even when they make heavy weather of it, like today. I don't think I'll ever warm to Gallas but that's probably stubornness on my part, his competitiveness and drive are going to be very valuable in these critical periods.

Can't say I'm too chuffed about Hleb being out for a chunk of time though.

Good news about Essien's red card today - if he gets a 3 match ban he'll miss the game at the Grove.

Sorry but I am still not convinced by this comment. Cesc was out today but without him we looked ordinary dispite our win. We need one man to make our game sexy* and complete.

* sexy was used to mean the style of his play and not his cute schoolboylike looks in those tight shorts that he wears    Magic Hat help

Actually I thought we missed Hleb more than we did Cesc Yesterday.

I would hope we're not championship material, the spuds are championship material, the question is; are we champions material?
