As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
"Arsenal have developed a habit this season of confounding critics - and opponents - by fielding an unfamiliar-looking side in important matches, and picking up points."
Where did I read this? Here's a clue: -"the backs will be chosen from Male, Hapgood and Leslie Compton"!!! So sayeth The Daily Herald, December 2nd., 1938.
Arsène Wenger had a "bad surprise" on Monday morning - Alex Song has been ruled out of the Champions League trip to Barcelona.
The Cameroon midfielder was substituted with 19 minutes remaining against Wolves on Saturday with a groin problem but his manager expected him to be OK for the Quarter-Final second leg at the Nou Camp. But Song's injury is worse than first feared.
"It was a bad surprise this morning because he had a scan yesterday afternoon on his knee and he has an inflamed cartilage," said Wenger before leaving for Spain. "We have to wait and see how bad it is but he is completely out for the squad for tomorrow's game."
Sol Campbell was Arsenal's other doubt ahead of the second leg. The 35-year-old completed 90 minutes against Wolves but fatigue was always going to be a factor with two high-intensity games in just three days. Wenger will wait until matchday before deciding whether to pick Campbell.
"That is a decision I have to make after speaking to him tomorrow," said the manager. "Today he was still not completely available although he managed to get a warm-up. To go into such a game you must be completely fit or not play at all."
I'm normally Mr Positive......but even I now concede that we should enjoy the occasion, but no way are we going to get through. I thought that Song's injury was final straw, but that actually came with the news that Sol is a doubt.....!
Sorry guys, but if we win through tomorrow night then the Spanish will build a shrine on the centre circle and Catholic's from around the world will make an annual pilgrimage!!!

Yep, i agree. It's almost impossible to got through tommorow night.
The two players we needed fit the most are injured, so i can't see it happening now. I'll change my prediction, it was 2-2.... Now its barcelona 3-1 Arsenal.
