On a slightly diferent note I deffo wouldn't start Theo. He doesn't seem to have the intelligence or vision to perform for more than 30 to 40 minutes at a reasonable skill level. I'd bring him on with 30 to go and let him run at their defenders non stop. Put everything down that side to him. Yes he may fuck up alot of crosses, and lose possession easily but by the law of averages if he gets enough ball he may get through once or twice and deliver.
These Barcawhores are very skilful yes but they got tired in the 2nd half at our place and the Barca pitch is bigger than ours. They won't be able to press us high up for 90 minutes (or more if need be!!).

very interesting, db10, except for the fact that theo is our only fit player in the squad... nasri will play in central midfield, rosicky is a doubt, and arshavin is out, so who would you play on the wings? eboue and vela?DB10GOONER wrote:On a slightly diferent note I deffo wouldn't start Theo. Probably Eboue because he'll run at them too. Rosicky is the question though....brazilianGOONER wrote:very interesting, db10, except for the fact that theo is our only fit player in the squad... nasri will play in central midfield, rosicky is a doubt, and arshavin is out, so who would you play on the wings? eboue and vela?DB10GOONER wrote:On a slightly diferent note I deffo wouldn't start Theo. Well..not starting Theo is a risk Wenger might not be willing to take. To bring Theo on for the last 30-40 minutes is very tempting (we all saw what happened last weekend) but let's not forget that the game could be all over by then (I'm a realist). Instead, let's start Theo and hope he can do some early damagebrazilianGOONER wrote:very interesting, db10, except for the fact that theo is our only fit player in the squad... nasri will play in central midfield, rosicky is a doubt, and arshavin is out, so who would you play on the wings? eboue and vela?DB10GOONER wrote:On a slightly diferent note I deffo wouldn't start Theo. Realist here too. But I don't think Theo would make the same impact against the whores in the first half when they are fit and closing us down in twos. Any chance he has would be against tired legs late on, I reckon...cj88 wrote:Well..not starting Theo is a risk Wenger might not be willing to take. The flip-side to that is that it shouldn’t be quite so easy for them to close us down with Walcott on the pitch. The one (& only) thing Walcott’s ever provided us on a consistent basis is that the threat of his pace (rather than what he actually does with it) stops the opposition being able to play a high-line pressing game & keeps their FB from raiding forward at will - ie 2 of the key components of Barca’s game. Without him we have almost literally no pace in the side at all.DB10GOONER wrote:Realist here too. I can see both arguments but much as I really don’t rate the guy I’d probably start with him rather than going for the Ali rope-a-dope tactic again. I’d maybe play him on the left though, especially if Rosicky doesn’t start. As much as Maxwell was a problem down the left Alves’ runs down the right were a bigger one cos of the space vacated by Messi coming in off the flank. And with Bendtner’s tendency to drift out to our left as if he’s Henry, Walcott’s pace cutting inside in to the space to run at the heart of their defence could be a problem for them.
All bullshit theoreticals really. Let's just fucking do them!

according to http://twitter.com/Johncrossmirror they are clearly afraid of Theo's pace and so they should be because they play a high-line and must of the goals scored against them have been from a fast player running onto a pass or cross.
How and when Arsene uses him will decide the game.

Maxwell will think twice about bombing it up the line if Theo is there ready to launch a quick counter attack if he cant get back in time. With all the injuries it will be tough but if the team want it enough and are willing to go out and work their socks off there is no reason why we cant win this game. This is the stage for all the players who we have had questions about to stand up and prove what they are made of. Nasri needs to show he can step up and be the player we bought and run the show like he did so wel against Porto. The likes of Bendtner too even though he has scored some important goals of late still has a problem with sticking chances away like the sitter of a header he had last week in the first leg.
C'mon Arsenal
