It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

I beg to differ;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bromley_Cross

I've run your ISP through a few diferent filters and it keeps coming up Bromley Manchester.

IP Address; 86.11.84.61
Country; ENGLAND
City; MANCHESTER
ISP; NTL INFRASTRUCTURE
Town; BROMLEY
You just made that wiki page this minute thats why it took you so long to reply there isnt really a Bromley in Manchester.

The issue with ISP addresses is in older software the tracker might only pick up a geographical routing station that may serve a few areas. The ones I have track to where their ISP "connects" to the server at their end, not the other end. Thus I discovered deaje was posting from Birmigham not Sarf (or Norf) Laaahhhndan and Pancho was posting from London (NOT Manchester). I still maintain Dr Hull was not posting from Hull.

There are a few the trackers cannot do but that is down to another issue, not location.

Yours is one of the problematic ones pixie. When I look you up on the Gooner IP panel you have about 30 slightly diferent ones so I just get "London" (a general area) when I track them. "London" could mean areas of Kent etc.

When I run posters' IP's that are single I can get their connection area, like say Bromley in Manchester.

My IT mate is trying to get me the latest one that will solve this problem.

The big question is.........how far can you trust your software???

It doesn't always do what it says on the tin.

You are a problem too, safcftm. You are showing up with about 50 variations of an ISP so it's really only the router that's showing;

OPAL TELECOM DSL

Most show up as "UK". A couple show up as (clearly being routed through) Liverpool, Bolton and Manchester.
