The "little club" Charter

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Yes,some idiots where singing that and it was it was't nice. All teams fans have twats. In the cup game a child had nearly had his eye taken out by a coin thrown by your fans into stoke fans in the away end. If your search threads you'll see. Like i said, all teams have a few knobs, but we could go on and on,you did that,we did this ect. Just crack on now,and i've rock to sell.

Welcome to the forum. Unlike a lot of your fellow Stokies, you seem a reasonable enough bloke - even if wrong on this matter.

I'd like to ask you a question: Had Shawcross got to the ball before Ramsey, where was he intending on putting it? I ask because the force at which he made his attempted tackle was so strong that in the above scenerio, the ball would most likely have cleared the stadium!!!

Also, I'm not certain that Ramsey is absolving Shawcross of all blame:

http://213.146.191.132/cgi/NGoto/2/411845733?1244

We all know that it was a 'have some of that!!!' type challenge and unfortunately the recklessness and force with which Shawcross went into the tackle made it almost inevitable that the recipient of it would end up getting hurt - unfortunately in this case, very badly.

The point is, there wasn't any urgent need to make the challenge - other than a mixture of anger at losing control of the ball and a misguided determination to let the other bloke 'know you're there'. The consequence of that attitude is a young player suffering pain, spending a long time out, and running the risk of maybe never ever returning at the same quality level - as we are sadly seeing currently with regards Eduardo.

Now can you honestly tell me those acts of machismo were worth it? :?
I think you've put your point of view down very well. I would like to think also, that most people know he did'nt go in to hurt him.But hindsight is a great thing. looking back now, shawcross should of left it and not gone for the tackle, especially if he had known what the end result was to be. as I've said, you make very good points. I,like most fair minded stokies hope Aaron makes a speedy recovery and comes back stronger,in mind too. Eduardo seems to have come back from his injury ok,but I hope its just a loss of form as all players go through as opposed to anything lingering from the Brum game. sorry to take so long getting back, just got in from work and my phone which I was using the net on was goosed !

Good old fashioned banter, thats what its all about, nothing daft. The funny song yesterday was ... susan boyles your mum, susan boyles your mum, jimmy bullard, susan boyles your mum !!! I thought it was witty anyway, :D

Who wakes up in the morning and says to themselves, "I know what I'll do today, I'll break someone's leg"?! These are professional sportsmen we're talking about here not loan sharks! Saying things like that shows a lack of intelligence. Stop repeating the same tired platitudes you hear Shearer spout on TV use your brain and form your own opinion.

PHP,I stand by what I said in the reply. If shawcross had gone in with the attitude of "i'm out to break someones leg today" please believe me,i'd be the first to write to stoke and demand he was kicked out of our club. Because my point of view is different to yours does not mean I lack intelligence. I think we all agree that what happened to Aaron was terrible and thats my own view and not pundits like Shearer, even if he happens to think that way. If the it happened to a stoke player,i'd probably be like arsenal fans, very upset as its happened a few times to you. footys all about different views, its what makes it the great game it is. You dont lack intelligence because your point is different to mine,as I dont either! anyway, its pissing down in Blackpool today,I'll be selling nowt today on that prom, but i'll give it a go!

i think you are still missing the point being made, no one is saying Shawcross meant to break his leg, but shawcross IS a player who breaks peoples legs.

Shawcross was and is reckless and this can lead to serious injuries.

is any of that hard to understand?

I love the "you're gonna win fuck all" chant coming from supporters of teams who have never won fuck all.

Don't these muppets realise that the only ones we take any notice of when singing that song are Chelsea and Manyoo.

Small time muppets.

Can we please intiate Ipswich Town into the Little Club Charter hall of fame, I got the full repertoire off their bunch on leaving the ground.

"You're a glory hunting gold digger!" one of em yelled at me :? Surely, considering we've won fuck all for 6 years, if that was the case i'd support Chelsea?! Enjoy the conference you inbreds. Forest Green Rovers should be a nice day out for you.

the rules are:

no-one is allowed to support a big club. If you do you will be reminded by small club fans that your a gloryhunter.
I suppose in their perfect world everyone would support York City and Ipswich would have won the Champions League every year since it was founded. then they'd be gloryhunters :?
