Barcelona vs Arsenal thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Agian we lost our defensive discipline ala Man Utd and Chelsea games. It's criiminal that another ball over the top leads to a goal against us.

I dont absolve Vermaelen from any blame here eirther. Did he play like a 10m pound defender?
The thing is we had to play high up the pitch, we got the first goal doing that, and failing the poor decision by Diaby in not passing to Walcott we could have had the 2nd.

The 2nd and 3rd goals were down to playing so high up!

So to **** with trying to defend then? Unless I am completely picking you up wrong you seem to be justifying ben caught out yet again like like Chelsea and United games. Yes we had to go for the game and inevitibly it meant playing high howver being caught out yet again by a ball over the top? Sorry, one or two mistakes fair enough but we did the same against Everton too.
If you want to blame tonights defeat on the cb's go ahead. Most of the team were found wanting tonight. But we got all our joy, and misery by playing high up simple.

The difference with Chelski and Manure, is that we don't have to play so high up against them. They can't play through us in the same way as Barca.

Is it safe to come out from behind the sofa yet?

I'm probably deluding myself cos they did take their foot off the pedal in the 2nd half but I'm still cursing Diaby a minute after our goal for not releasing Walcott in for a one on one. OK, he may well have missed it but 2 up at that stage could have been very different.
Diaby does not have a brain and until he finds one, he will continue to frustrate big time.

Hats off to Clichy who ran his fucking balls off.
Rosicky? Can't find the words to describe his performance.

Sky would sicken your a***.

I'm glad I don't view our games on there on a regular basis.

Stunning, magical, masterclass.

Jeez, if Barca were missing their first choice bone of the their team the scoreline would be the same in our favour.

Fair play to Messi, his goals were top draw and fair play to Bendtner for grabbing an excellent goal and giving us a wonderful couple of minutes.

The difference was clear to see. They pressed and hounded us into errors where as we allowed them to generate play after play.

It's a shame but I guess we just don't know how to play against top class sides - that's fair to say isn't it?

I think we should congratulate our side on another successful champions league campaign. I think we'd have fancied our chances against any other side in the competition before the draw.

Very disappointed Gooner but our time will come lads and lassies :barscarf:

Spurs can only dream of playing against teams like Barcelona in a competitive match,.

And as for Hull, they can only dream of being in business in 12 months time :barscarf: :barscarf: :barscarf: (I always said you were a *word censored* Dr Hull, even when the others on here stuck up for you)
