Vermaelen

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Bearing in mind how useless Diaby, Denilson and Nasri were yesterday evening it's a bit much to take it out on TV who has been a rock for most of the season in defence. It was impossible for the guy to stop Barcelona on his own.

I cant believe what a narrow minded twit the person is who created this blog. You plastic. If youve actually bothered watching Arsenal at all this season, youd see Thomas Vermaelen has been a fantastic signing. Hes made mistakes in games for sure, but so has gallas, so did campbell, so did toure, so did adams, and even martin keown. We won trophys with all of them aswell. Your clearly trying to be smart and find another target, rather than the usual players the plastics pick on, like bendtner , walcott and so on ..
I suggest you actually sit down and watch vermaelen properly. for 8 million, hes been a bargain, hes a top class defender, and hes only 23, so hes got plenty of time to improve. Future Captain. Long live Tommy V

Fuck me, it's not still April Fools day is it.......
A thread slagging off Vermaelen, shocking, the blokes been one of our best players all season. When Cesc Fabregas in not not the pitch Tommy should wear the skippers arm band.

If you didnt know Vermaelen from Antgel's post you would think we had bought a 16 year old who was still learning his game, thats the point i made. and i did stop learning at an early age i knew everything at the age of 6, its a hard life being a genius :happydance:
Actually most people wouldn't think that, you just jumped to a conclusion. Where did I say he was 16?

Ah, you stopped learning, now I get it.

Your right, it is bellitling to call somebody a plastic, but im sorry, when i see somebody willing to post something as pathetic as that, it winds me up. I am sick and tired, of our so called fans, singleing out our players, everytime something goes wrong. Quite clearly, against, Utd, Chelsea, and Barca, we didnt perform well enough as a unit. No single player is to blame.

Add Man City to that list and who would you say needs singling out for the fact that the team did not perform well enough as a unit on any of those occasions (answers on a postcard....)

Why do you feel the need to make the same point in every post? I genuinely don't get it. Every discussion, every mini-thread, and you turn it round into "blame Wenger". We get it already.

Our defence is not organised, and hasnt been since 2002
Hard to replace that team we had, but there you, everybodys dissapointed. I think we should bring back nelson vivas and place bets on how long it would take him to get a yellow

The trouble for TV is he doesn't have a partner alongside him who he can trust, and I include Gallas in that, which would help explain our poor defensive record this season against all types of opposition.
I think TV is a very decent CB who is being let down by those around him, although I will also add a Tony adams or a Martin Keown he most certainly isn't.

It's clear who he is referring to......he seems to be very precious just now about any criticism aimed at our manager. Instead of balancing out his own arguments he adopts this approach

No problem with the criticism, just with the repetitive ergo tedious nature of it. People feeling the need to make the same point over and over hundreds of times as if it somehow makes it more valid.

I have no idea what you mean about balancing my own arguments. I'm not making any arguments, just stating as in the above paragraph. Oh, you got sidetracked and forgot to answer my original question above i.e.

I've been answering your points on other threads actually. I don't think I've made the same point over and over at all. If making multiple points that all point back to the manager is your idea of same old, same old then that's up to you. BTW, I find your approach of total non-acceptance of any criticism far more tedious than any well constructed argument that just so happens to take a different point of view.
