Champagne Charlie said: It's like the N-word debate. Black people can call each other N-word yet when others do it they become sensitive and aggressive.
If you want to respect yourself why address yourself and call your fellow man by that term?
Interesting point is two African-American comedians, who both used that word a lot in their material (Richard Pryor, Paul Mooney) decided to stop using the word.
Pryor after a trip to Africa.
Mooney after the George from Seinfeld outburst.
"****" is a slightly different case because it is a legitimate word in use in Jewish circles, which was taken by anti-Semites who changed the pronounciation to turn it into a term of abuse.
It was then sort of "Reclaimed" by Spurs fans.
The N word was a term of abuse from the start, which in turn was sort of claimed by some African-Americans amongst themselves.
It is now used the word over by all races both as a term of abuse, and as term of affection depending on tone and context.
Yet I bet plenty of people are not happy with that.
Bottom line is there are people on this site who unrepentantly use other words for Spurs (Heebs/Sheenies) etc which are offensive, End of.
