I Was A Teenage Spurs Fan (28/3)
My first trip to Shite Hart Lane was as a 16 year old - we drew 2-2 after, I think, being 2-0 up. I went with my Spuds mates and stood with them. Gooners fans were making so much noise that I actually joined in, in spite of where i was standing. I was there when we won 5-0 (Liam Brady "saluting" the Shelf!), and when we lost 0-5 (one of the few times ever that I've left a match early!). I was there for the "we beat spurs with 6 reserves and Alan (Sunderland) scored again....", for the league cup semi final 2nd leg & replay in 1986, saw Graham Roberts put that penalty over the bar, and so many other times. Haven't been there for a number of years, and from what people say its actually worse now than it was then! But (in case you were wondering), no, I've never been there to support Spuds.....
Does anyone know "Jellatt"? I'm sure he must still go to footie. Ginger haired guy who needs treatment from a good orthodontist? I went on a pre-season tour with him one year to germany & holland (a hooker tried to rip him off in hamburg, but thats for another time). Well he is English fair & square, yet for as long as I knew him actually supported Scotland! Now, if you are going to change your national allegiance, at least pick a team thats going to win something, like maybe Brazil - but Scotland!?!?Dicko wrote:.... who the hell is going to change their allegianceto a football club or nationality.
