Sevilla defeat could make for a long December (28/11)

usual thread starter… Does Arsene really need to rotate so much? Some of the players on the bench could have started the game and been taken of if they looked tired 15 mins into the second half as Cesc was. I’m thinking Rosicky and Sagna. By the they came on, we were already chasing the game rather than controlling it. It seems as if Wenger’s prioritised rotation over winning the group. I guess if you are going to win the Champions League you are going to have to beat the top teams at some point, so maybe in his mind he sacrificed this game when he decided who was going on the trip. Who knows? Maybe Slavia Prague can do us a favour!

arsenes rotation

how many teams in the world could field a team with 7 changes (a lot of them teenagers) that played like world beaters until the born again cygan (senderos) comes along and destroys everything they have played for.
the two worst players on the pitch were berty & senderos. add to this the lily livered ref and you have a game to forget.

i for one am dreading january the 5th when toure goes to a warmer clime (we can manage without ade).
if arsene doesn't buy a new centre back to cover for him i fear we may have a bare trophy cabinet at the end of the season.
senderos is not good enough and we've had the best years out of berty.
top of table without senderos. mid table with. hope i'm wrong.
senderos and berty added the comic touch to last nights game.
having said that you always felt that most of the arsenal players were olding back. they had no fire in their bellys
roll on saturday to see what they are made of.

On our run to the final, we met Real Madrid and Juventus in the second round and quarter-finals respectively. In semi-finals, we met an “easyâ€

December could be a very long month. The last time we came off a long unbeaten run we went into a nosedive for the next few weeks (some might say years) after Mike Riley inspired Man Utd to end the 49ers record.

We have to hope that we can avoid this and pick up the points at Villa - performance is of no significance Saturday as long as the boys can get the win and prove to themselves that they can bounce back.

Its a very testing month with lots of matches coming thick and fast . There will be quite a bit of rotating/resting of players . Lets see how we react after the Seville defeat. Although it should be a different team. Aston Villa are doing well at the moment too so it should be an interesting game.

Article is a good analysis of the situation. I'm pretty worried about how we'll respond this afternoon, though 3 of Villa's 4 wins have been against bottom-of-the-table teams. But 4-0 at Blackburn was impressive. As for Senderos? Pah!
