As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
I am guessing here but there has to be an explanation and this might be it :-
I think Fabianski is great in training and looks fantastic but he cannot perform infront of a crowd and goes to pieces under match conditions. Which is rather a handicap
Poor chap. I feel for him and he was 25 today. Not a happy birthday. I don't wish him any ill but I hope he is celebrating his 26th somewhere else beyond London N5.

Rob, exactly the point pal. This guy is 25 now FFS. I hear people banging on about his promise and that he should be given a chance but the errors are so elementary and he has such a complete lack of confidence that he can not stay here. Did you see Silvestre glare at him in the first half when a standard "come and collect" turned into a "yes, no, maybe.....fuck it lets leave it to the defender". His positioning and flapping at corners was woeful too.
He turns an already shambolic defence into a quivering wreck and he does not belong here.
I've said it many times before - the worst keeper I have ever seen at Arsenal FC. Miller, Wilmot, George Wood - all better than this guy. He concedes at best one own fault goal per game, often two or more.
Wenger bombed out Richard Wright because he wasnt good enough.Yet he kept faith in these two clowns(Average Al and Flappy). The only decent keeper Wenger has bought in 14 years at the club was Jens.
Every game Flappy plays we just know he is a mistake waiting to happen. He is not going to get better
Wenger has put himself in an unenviable position, by saying Flappy would play in the remaining games this season. This was Wenger at his cocky arrogant best, and it has backfired due to another hapless display by the dreadful Pole.
He would now have to lie about the Flappy's fitness having already lied about awful Al, in order to bring Mannone in.
It would just make Wenger look even less credible, so I think he will stick with the Pole and hope he can get through the Citeh game without making another costly mistake.
The goalkeeping situation at the club is a disgrace, and is tantamount to Wenger failing in his duties as manager.
What really annoys me, that this actually exactly what i probably said exactly this time last year, and the year before. All this before Porto etc etc. Both A. M. and Flappy are not top quality players, and have and WILL DAMN well continue to cost us points.
This is apparent to everbody exact our coahing staff?
Who makes assessments of this sort of game, why do we never learn from the disastrous games? What on earth does Wenger see in these guys? Are they seriously the long term future for Arsenal.
I sincerely hope not, or there is no possibility of us overhauling the likes Cheski and MANU.... next season..

Flappy handski has promise?
It is often said that promise is a comfort to a fool, in this case that is definitely so.
