People who want wenger out ...
I should also say that I do believe that wenger should leave this summer cos unlike most others I do not see him changing his ideals and fcuk all will change. If he is willing to do the necessary then I will back him again but I honestly do not believe either he or the board want a shake up in the way the club is being run. It makes me laugh when I see fans say that he should get one more season to rectify things but if he doesnt do the necessary this summer then their support for him will go......does that mean he should be sacked on sept 1st or do they still want to give him the season ?

Catch 22 there isn't it. He can't proclaim what he's going to do transfer wise. We have to hope he finally gets it. By September 1st we will know.
The point is he still has one more year to run on his contract and he won't break that and the Club won't sack him. So he is here for one more year regardless. I still live in hope that he will act this summer.
But we will see.

What this thread implies to me is that if you're not ST or regular visitor to the grove people like myself who get to a handful of games due to distance, availability and financial circumstances shouldn't have a opinion on the way the club is run?.
So where do i stand in this,i'm a ex-Nth London lad
,ok old man,and followed THE ARSENAL since 70,a family tradition, and was regular at Highbury and away games for nearly 30yrs.I moved away 14yrs ago due to work and travelled around due to work so restricting my visits. So before the necessity of having a ST,i did get one,i was at VIRTUALLY every game and only in the last 4/5yrs my visits have been dramatically reduced.
No disrespect or insult meant it just the way the thread has been worded.

That wasnt my intention i was just trying to compare opinions from the guys who sit near me at the grove to the guys on here, only way to do that is find out who goes.
Supporting Arsenal since 71 been to 100+ games used to go 4 or 5 times a season, don't go as often now due to the cost etc, a trip to 1 league game rarely comes in at less than 400-500 quid.PI7ES wrote:So far not one person who wants wenger out has answered my question?
Though I don't see why I should have to justify my opinions to you or anyone else based on, or in any way related to whether or not I am a season ticket holder.

Im hoping that he will see the project isnt working, im not holding my breath but hoping, but as the greatest Arsenal manager ever does he deserve the chance to sort things? Yes he does. If this was say Moyes who after 5 seasons hadnt won anything and was trying a project (you can see from my signature what i think of the project) then i dont think we would be having a discussion as we would all think the same, OUT.augie wrote:I should also say that I do believe that wenger should leave this summer cos unlike most others I do not see him changing his ideals and fcuk all will change. How long will you give him next season Flash? and what about the poor tactical decision making. I think you know in your head he won't or indeed can't change. But your heart is wishing otherwise.flash gunner wrote:Im hoping that he will see the project isnt working, im not holding my breath but hoping, but as the greatest Arsenal manager ever does he deserve the chance to sort things? I wouldn't like to see wenger sacked on what he has done for our great club but over the last few yrs it has shown that there are discrepancies on his ability to take us forward and we have not really gone forward since Paris 06.Yes,i believe the Grove has put restrictions on transfer but not to the extent where improving the squad is deemed unnecessary.
If he doesn't spend on the players needed this summer then he has to go other wise let him see out his final year and then bring in a fresh manager.

I think youre right Sid maybe my heart is ruling my head, the day Wenger goes will be a dark day for the club but i also know that things arent good enough at the moment and tactically he is poor compared to other top managers. I still want him to get it right thoughgoonersid wrote:How long will you give him next season Flash? and what about the poor tactical decision making. Season ticket holder for 15yrs, go to every home game and some aways if tockets are available.
I think his time is up which is a shame as he has changed us for the better, delivering a style we never dreamed of seeing the premier league and making all of the other teams change the way they play just to match us. Tha said how can he keep his job having one 5 years without a trophy? Whilst he has not spent millions (whatever the reasons are), he has fritters away loads of money on young players who are the next generation, but where are they all now? Cesc, Cilchy and Bendtner are the onlys to have made it.
Had he saved that money and spent on an established player it would have been more benficial to us. The project has failed and for a 5th straight year so has Arsene!!

It is not the drop of a hat.Its 5 trophyless seasons.Wenger has had an easy ride..Rijkarrd was sacked from Barcelona 2 years after winning the CL.Swale_Gooner1985 wrote:People want managers out at the drop of a hat these days, they would be better off following something like Big Brother, they would get more enjoyment from it, screaming 'get whoever out' every week

For what its worth - I am lifelong arsenal fan (33 years old currently), first went at 6 years old, attended regularly through my teanage years, went occasionally thereafter and then started attending regularly again in the final year at Highbury. I have had a season ticket at the grove for 2 years.
Up to the Wigan game I had not called for Wenger to be sacked but I do beleive there must now be a change at the club.
This does not necessarily mean Wenger should be sacked by he certainly needs to change his ways.
There is nothing wrong in principle with a youth development policy but he needs to accept that somethimes those players will not develop as he hopes and when this happens he should dip into the transfer kitty to replace thoses players with established quality/experience.
Also Wenger needs to employ different tactics dependant on the opponents/circumstances, his style of beautiful football (which incidentially i think we far from playing that at the moment) will not win us every game.
Finally, he needs to learn how to motivate his players - far too many lutlustre, cant be arsed performances recently.
Therefore you go - just my opinion for what its worth.
