How long have you supported The Arsenal?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Well from the ages of 2-5 i supported Liverpool

then i decided i liked Man United so i changed to them until i was about 9

then I started liking Arsenal but it didnt last long so i went back to Man United

Then i Supported Real Madrid for a while and i liked Barcelona too

I decided that my heart was with United so went back to them

But then Chelsea started winning so I went to them for a couple of years

Then I went back to Arsenal because one of my mates told me they were good

But at the moment i class myself as a fan of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City, i love them all so much

In all honesty brobably from when i was about 5? so getting on for 20 years

One of my earliest football memories was of Watching Anfield 89 with my dad, being happy that Arsenal won but not really getting what the big deal was.

Same. Anfield 89 is my first recollection of The Arsenal, been following them ever since. Went to my first game in 93.

i can remember being in my grandad's sunlounge and it must have been about 1997 or so cs i made the whole starting line up out of a cereal box and coloured them in and everything...and then he asked me to make him a few of his favourites and the only one i can still remember is frank mclintock. i remember he also liked my home-made merson! i was 8 at the time and he was sadly housebound and unable to take me but i still remember him telling me the stories about when he was taken by his dad to highbury as a child. as soon as i was able to start attending on my own i went. thankfully my dad moved to finsbury park when he came over from ireland so it's on both sides of my family.

sorry for the big boring story!
i'd say i've been arsenal for about 12 years now :)

1972 - yep though 8 yrs old then (oddly have no memories of the glorious 71 double), shows how i started i suppose - FA Cup Final & stuck with us after our loss to Leeds......

So, 38 yrs on the clock ....... How can i moan about things as they are now when i've (like many others) gone through the T Neill & Don Howe years of horrible, horrible football!

My 1st game was 1977 at the age of 6. I was hooked straight away and have been going regularly ever since.

Late 60's, first game a friendly against Glasgow Rangers August 1968. Sat in lower west stand in front of the school boys enclosure.

I badgered my dad into taking me to Arsenal in 1971 when I was 5 years old. My dad lived in London for many years but didn't support one team, he just liked footy so used to go to Arsenal one week, Charlton the next, Spurs the next.......We lived 50 miles away from Arsenal in Kent. He took me to see the Gunners about 4 or 5 times a year up until 1976, when we started going to every home game because he then turned into a fully fledged Gooner! We then started to go to away games in 1980 and that's when we got our season tickets. He died in 1991, just after we won the title and just before we built the new north bank stand at Highbury. Arsenal holds special memories for me, not just because of the Arsenal but because of the times I had with my dad so the fact that I am close to giving up my ST because of Wenger should say just how pissed off with Arsene that I am!

Since 2004, I have all of Thierry Henry's wickets on DVD and I really loved Pires' slam dunks.
