After studying this for 3 days, I come to the conclusion that he was being satirical. In other words, he said “I never want to leave Arsenal unless Real Madrid want to desperately buy me and Wenger doesn’t want to keep meâ€

yeah, i read this that if the club is offered a sum of money that they are not able to refuse then he may have to resign hmself to the fact that he will be up the road. I think he was using £100m as an example of a ridiculous amount of money? (cue Roman reaching for the chequebook)
People will always put a different spin on these statements - its what they do.

Adebayor: I'll quit if Arsenal fail to win title
tribalfootball.com - November 30, 2007
Manu Adebayor says it's the title or bust for him at Arsenal this season.
The charismatic striker declared: "If we don't win it, I will take my shirt off and call Arsene Wenger. I'll say 'Boss, I want to stop playing football' because I have a lot of ambition and part of my ambition is to win the title.
"As a player if you don't have an ambition, I don't know why you are playing or what you stand for.
"I have a lot of dreams and ambitions with Arsenal and I know they will come true."
i think he needs to stop spending all his time yapping to the press and just work on his non existant finishing skills

Justin, I think the joke is on youWhat a joke. I really would let him go. I would not look at him as indispensible to the club because he is not.

Arsenal ace Manu Adebayor admits he can't rule out leaving Emirates stadium. The Togo striker said: "In football, you can never give an assurance.
Henry did and then fucked off to Barca, so well done Ade for not bullshitting us.
I have a very good contract, good money and the life in London is absolutely fantastic
Great to hear that he appreciates what he has, unlike that greedy *word censored* Cashley
Okay so the fee may be questionable but the point he puts across is that if Wenger wanted him gone then he would really have little choice than to go."But who knows? If Real Madrid comes with an offer of £100m, Arsenal might be tempted to sell me. If Wenger tells me to go, I cannot fight to stay.
Would you not be proud if you were playing for Arsenal and getting paid shitloads? I know I fucking would."At this moment I am very happy in London and very proud about myself as I have settled well here. I enjoy my life in London.
Would rather he recognises that he has room for improvement than think he is the mutts nuts when he aint."Before the season started when I was on holiday, I told myself that I should improve on the way I score goals. "Even though I didn't play badly last season, I missed some scoring opportunities. "So I resolved to score more goals and enjoy myself on the pitch. "I am now very happy with my form and the way I have learnt from my previous mistakes.
Cesc, RVP, Clichy, Hleb & Co as team mates, he wrong about that & currently three points lear at the top of the league with a game in hand, can't really argue with him"I have very good team-mates and I am very pleased with the way things are going for me and the way the team is playing."

His performances might not always be upto scratch but I don't think it is fair to slate the man for what he has said in this interview.

has anyone noticed that this interview is from tribalfootball.com, i would take anything from that site with a gigantic bucket of salt. they probably fed him the figure "so ade you say you would like to stay at Arsenal but what if real madrid, for example, came along with a lot of money, say £100m?"
