Is this the time to tell if we have any balls

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Is this the time to tell if we have any balls

Post by delgooner »

Morning all,

Im thinking today's the day when we find out if we really are gonna stand a chance of winning the premiership or not.

Over the next few weeks we have what I would call a test of character for the Arse. Every game is important and will see what we are made of.

Today we start at Villa, who are doing quite well and we will have to see how we play and get on against them. Im down the pub for this one and if there's enough gooners in the pub then he'll put the villa v Arse game on so have to make sure he's well bribed for it. Me personally I dont think its gonna be pretty and we might have some scary moments but I just wish our defence were more hard and solid and please please Boss dont play Senderos or I will be spending the entire match in the bog shitting myself. I just hope that the squad are up to it and dont die on us.

What are your thoughts?

IF YOU CAN KEEP YOUR HEAD WHEN ALL AROUND YOU ARE LOSING THEIRS (King Charles when going up the scaffold)

I have to say that I was feeling very confident about this month until Tuesday nights result and the loss of the instrumental Mr Fabregas. Now I am very worried that we will lose another couple as is so often the case. Arsenal, please prove my concerns wrong.

I too felt good about todays game pre tuesday night but after a woeful last 60 minutes or so coupled with the loss of cesc has me more than a little worried. I know villa are not that good a team and they blow hot & cold but 4-0 away v hughes thugs midweek was a fair old result for them. As has been said the test of this squad will be how it responds to setbacks so in that manner today is huge. Who will take cesc's place ? Doubtful if its Denilson after last 2 poor performances. Will he re-instate flamini ? Ditto Bert ? Or will he go with Diarra which would please many Gooners inc me ? The crucial decision will rest on his formation and I pray he goes 4-4-2.

Big players show up for big games and this is a big game so Come On You Reds

I don't think anyone is underestimating them mate. I think we all know this will be a really, really hard one.

With that said, and given what I usually say in the build up to our games, we'll probably go and win 3-1 now!

I wish...

Let`s hope you have right :D I predict 3-3, but if not Senderos is playing, maby a 3-1 win will be the result :D I`m a very nervous man right now, we have to turn the loss in CL to a good result today.
Come on Arsenal, come on you Gunners!

I am a little nervous which is worrying as I never usually worry about Villa....as they are usually shite!

However O'Neill has an aura around him that makes average sides fight above their weight.

Tempted to replace the irreplaceable Cesc with Diarra however if he plays next to Flaminal it is hardly the biggest central midfield pairing and we do need some strength in there. It is a toss up as Gilberto gives you that strength but Diarra more guile.

Anyhow (never really thought I would say this before the season) I really hope Hlebster is fit so he can play behind the front man and make a five in midfield!

See I can do serious!

8)
