"Tuttosport report today that Juventus would be willing to arrange a swap deal for Buffon with Arsenal for any of Cesc Fabregas , Robin van Persie or Bacary Sagna .
The "Old Lady" are also hoping Arsenal reinvigorate their interest in Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo who could also be added to this type of deal."
Loads of talk about Buffona and Melo I know, but Sagna would be a good sacrifice?
Personally it would take a huge offer before I would even consider selling sagna - one of the few real defenders we have and one of the few that gives it 100% all the time

Honestly Augie, I really don't get your "rosetinter" type opinion of Sagna, I think he has been really poor this season, he hardly makes a tackle and his contribution going forward is poor.
The only problem is we don't have a decent replacement.
I think our back line is so bad that we are talking up players who are no more than decent. I am still reserving judgement on Vermalen until I see him play alongside a quality cb. As he whilst scoring a lot of goals, he has also made quite a lot of mistakes, which for now, I will give him the benefit of the doubt, due to the shite around him.
I totally concur with the opinion that this so called super formation of wenger's is badly exposing the full backs who get fcuk all protection but are also expected to bomb forward and whip in some crosses I believe sagna is being highlighted cos his crosses are poor but growing up in a bygone era I believe that defenders should defend first and foremost and I believe sagna is better than most (although of late he seems to have been caught a bit deep when his fellow defenders have pushed up )

swap sagna for sure. hes been off form this season in my opinion, and buffon is very much needed, hope its true

Well I think, as some others do, that this season Sagna hasnt been at his best, which was reinforced when he was replaced by Eboue a couple of times, and he wasnt a whole lot worse. Either way I think its easier to replace a RB than a GK at the moment, especially with the experience of Buffon. I'd be a little sad to see Sagna go but if thats what is required to get a top GK this summer, I think its worth it.

Gunners scouts have made regular checks on the Villarreal stopper, 28, who cost £5million from Real Madrid."

ARSENE WENGER is ready to rescue Shaun Wright-Phillips from his misery at Manchester City.
The tricky winger has failed to land a regular starting place under Roberto Mancini at Eastlands.
Now Mancini is ready to let him leave and Arsenal boss Wenger wants to snap him up in a cut-price £5million deal.
Wright-Phillips returned to City for his second spell with the club in an £8.5m deal from Chelsea in August 2008. He signed a four-year deal worth £60,000 a week but that was before the big money started being spent by new owner Sheikh Mansour.
Wright-Phillips has since been at odds with manager Mancini on the training ground and publicly complained about the club not offering him better terms on his contract.
He has started just seven games since Mancini took charge in December and has been substituted in six of those.
