Should Spuds be banned from Europe?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Should Spuds be banned from Europe?

Post by MK Gould »

There (sorry, their!) regular WHL antics have finally been revealed at a foreign football stadium and now the media have seen the neanderthals for what they really are....SCUM! As a few of you pointed out earlier, how come we've played all over Europe, year after year, without any trouble and Spuds have one season and look what happens....

it's a long time ago, but someone told me that spurs were actually banned from europe between 1974 and 1980, due to their fans' behaviour in the 1974 UEFA Cup Final. mind you, i don't think it was ever an issue as they were crap at the time and nowhere near qualification for europe.

Methinks you're joking....but funny all the same!

A spuds mate from school, hasn't missed a match - home or away - since 1982. Perfectly nice, respectable, genuine football fan. And yet even he takes strange satisfaction in spuds having a core of fans who haven't moved on from the early 80's (Sure I saw some of them wearing donkey jackets on thursday night....). And he is not alone. About time the media stopped talking about trouble from "English fans" and targetted the thugs & clubs involved!!
