It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

The Iphone is a bit of a gimmick! I've never liked Apple anyway!
To answer sids point if you want to listen to music you need an MP3 player and a phone to make and receive calls.
However, most phones now are MP3 players.
Augie, I'm finding the Nokia 5800 music is nice variation!!
Im not an iphone owner, but i own the 3rd gen ipod touch so as the other poster said, i kind of have the best of both worlds.
I can see the benefit of the iphone though. There is pretty much an app available for everything and anything and whilst most (spirit level? flashlight? etc) are completely pointless and "gimmicky", some are very very useful little additions.
Unfortunately, my company will not issue me with an iphone so i have settled on the standard issue Nokia E71 instead, which whilst irritating on some levels, does give me the ability (through a 3rd party app) to share my 3G connection as a wifi hotspot to enable my ipod touch to work on the go aswell (not that i carry it everywhere with me anyway)
Glad people have found Opera Mini a good alternative though!
What's the story with the price of Apple stuff anways? I was gonna get myself a laptop but they're about 4 times the price of a Dell, HP etc. one?
it's because they're....achem "unique"
Okay granted they've got many good features. But so do most Windows machines.
The Main one is that Apple use it's own operating system. Which means due to most viruses being created and made in windows make the Macs virus free!
Nice! but if you've a decent security package...it pointless!

I didn't know that...thanks Boomer
You see, you've "added value" to this forum today - How does it feel?
I do like the look of the MacBook Air but unless someone here has got a "friend" who could get me one off the back of a lorry I'll have to get something a bit cheaper.

The designers at my firm all use macs. They are miles better than PC's but as you say cost more so i stick to PC's
Before you go rushing off buying the over-expencive Mac's.......Most of the world still use microsoft!
Which I think causes some compatibilty problems if your sending a file someone to a Pc user.
Also some programmes written in Microsoft you can't use on a Mac
