Has anyone watched the Barca game last night, YAYA was Immense!

Not only he was great at breaking the opposition play, winning the ball but he also played like playmaker at times. he had a great run for Messi's first goal.

I cant believe AW had him on trial but thought he wasnt good enough.

:banghead: :banghead:
Arsene knows

I reckon he will be part of the Cesc deal :?:
Yes that's what I think, but what I also think is he aint that good, and certainly no better than an improving Alex Song.
Personally i think Song's improvment has clouded peoples view on him i still dont think Song is good enough and we could sign much better. In my view Toure would be a step in the right direction alongside Cesc hopefully

Important to remember that Song is still relatively young for the role, and similar improvement next season would see him "almost there" in terms of what is required. (I think we missed him every bit as much as Cesc in recent games)
As for Ya Ya alongside Cesc, I can only see that happening if he stays at Barca.

First time that I really looked at yaya playing and was really impressed although it has to be balanced by the fact that they were playing a team about to be relegated. As a team barca started very nervous with the exception of toure and even a man of puyol's experience was jittery :o
I cant get away from the idea that a real DM has to be a hard tackler in the middle of the park, especially in our team, and tbh I am not sure that yaya would fill that role

Yaya has always been a box-box midfielder but he is equally adaptable as a DM and not least a CB as he did in the CL against Chelsea and Utd.

I would love a midfield of Cesc Song and Yaya, now compared to Xavi Busquets and Keita there is not much difference in quality.

Song is much improved, he actually does tackle well and hard and bring the ball out of midfield too.

We have had better, so Song has a way to go to get to Petit's level, but he is moving in the right direction.

Song needs to improve his positional sense and he can switch off when tracking back.

Song and Cesc plus one other is ok considering we have other transfer needs in the team, but that one other is not yet in the squad. Maybe Ramsey, if he recovers well enough, but I want to see an Essien level player added.

Arsenal are set to confirm the signing of Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh after the 26-year-old Morocco international arrived in London on Monday to finalise the terms of his deal.
Full story: Daily Mail

The Gunners have had a £14m offer for Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina rejected, and manager Arsene Wenger could now turn his attentions to Juventus stopper Gianluigi Buffon.

We would not put in a bid for Reina, that story's balls. What would be the point of bidding for him after he's just signed a bumper new contract and when the dippers know their fans will lose it if they sold one of their best assets to a rival for the top 4. The Buffon story sounds more plausible. I can't believe young he is(32) for a goalie. Still not sure he'd be suited for the prem though.

How can he not be suited to the prem? Do they not stand between two posts in Italy?
