Cesc will now never be an Arsenal great, terrible career mov

Cesc will now never be an Arsenal great, terrible career mov

Post by highburyJD »

(obv disclaimer unless he stays/returns)
Leave now and he will end his Arsenal career without a major trophy
no league title, no champions league
without them he can't be put in the elite group of midfielders like Vieira, Petit, Limpar, Rocastle, Thomas, Overmars, Pires, Ljungberg and Gilberto.

a real pity, I feel let down.

Also it's apparently nailed on that Barca will get Villa
so they play

Iniesta + Xavi with an anchor in midfield - exactly the partnership that stops him starting for Spain
The old story was shift Iniesta up front as one of the strikers, I was always suspicious that wouldn't get the best out of him anyway.
Now that Pedro is a key striker for them who the hell do they drop?

Their strongest XI would have Cesc on the bench...

Ridiculous post. He's leaving so he can win something. If he stays he won't win sweet FA!

Rubbish.

I'm as upset as anyone at the thought of Cesc leaving, and he will always in my eyes be an Arsenal legend. I've followed him since he came to us as a kid with long hair, to his break through in the first team, and to finally becoming our captain. One of my favourite players. I will not hold a grudge against him, but a part of me will never recover once he does leave. It will be a very very sad day when he does go.

Agree, how can he go down as an Arsenal Legend????

John Jenson acheived more while at the club. As did Selly, Hughes, Hillier, the list goes on.

He's no legend.

All those players played alongside great players in each position to help them reach that status.
Cesc only has 2 or 3, if he can't do it here he will be a legend at Barca.

WITHOUT A DOUBT!

why would cesc give a fuck about being an arsenal legend?
in 4 years time he'll have plenty of trophi under his belt, living somewhere that isn't pissing down and freezing for 10 months of the year, and playing for the club he actually supports.

if he leaves, he'll be a great player that never managed to help us win anything.

he'll less of a legend than wiltord, kanu, petit, gilberto, lauren and lehmann in my eyes.

but that's just me.

Pathetic post!!!! Do you think he is worried about his legacy at Arsenal? He is a Barca lad im sure when he is 40 and sitting at home with Mrs Fabregas he will look back on all the trophies he won with Barca and be wholly satisfied. Cesc on the bench my arse!!! Keep deluding yourself rosetinter

Cesc will play in the first XI, no doubt about that, Iniesta will move to the left side of the attack.

If he goes, we've got to spend every penny that comes in. Ideally £20 million plus Yaya Toure means we have two holding midfielders, can go to 4-4-2 with Nasri and Theo on the wings and Arshavin in the hole behind RVP, getting the best out of Andrei in his favoured position and Nasri goes back to the position where he had success in his first season. New keeper, new centre-half, Chamakh and maybe another winger to start instead of Theo (Joe Cole, experienced, available on a free, high wages but still very tempting)

Have the people who say that Cesc would only make the bench at Barca ever actually been to an Arsenal match or do you lot only get the scores off teletext??

Fucking hell, the kids a genius, he'd walk on to any team in the world. :banghead:

The word "Legend" is used way too much but who is suprised that this day was not far away?
Barca lad, Barca fan, enough said. ( Well apart from a 5 year contract and only a year in)
