Ok, so we all knew he would go sometime. We all knew it would be Barcelona. And lets face it, we probably thought it would have happened a year or two ago....and who can really blame him?
Barcelona obviously still feel aggrieved that Arsenal nicked Cesc off them in the first place so have intimated that the maximum they will pay is £30m.....for a world class 23 year old with 4 years left on his contract! They already got their revenge by those years of constant pursuing of Henry, and nicking Hleb.
I say fuck them! They want him more than we need him (and I honestly believe that!) so lets play hard ball and let the big spenders really flash the cash. I'm thinking £40m minimum or maybe £35m plus Toure.... And lets see Arsenal's board publicly give Arsene the resulting £70m kitty to spend this summer on really strengthening the squad.

They spent about £35 million on bloody Ibrahimovic, and threw Eto'o (who must be worth at least £15m-20m) into the deal. Fabregas is a better, younger player than Ibrahimovic and I would expect them to have to pay around the £50m mark to get him. Heard some rumour that you are hoping to get Ibrahimovic as part of the deal if they get Villa due to Barca not being impressed with his first season, but i can only assume that is bullshit due to the fact that his wage demands would smash the current wage structure at arsenal

£50m is the bare minimum we should accept for Cesc. And if he’s half the man he’s shown himself to be in his time with us then as much as he wants to go he’ll understand that Arsenal has every right, and furthermore a responsibility to itself, to demand at least the going rate. The only problem I'll have with Cesc himself in this whole saga is if he tries to force a transfer through at a fee well below what he's worth.
If one party wants to buy & the other doesn’t want to sell the onus is always on the buyer to make the offer worthwhile. And if Barca only consider Cesc worth £30m/£35m having spunked £60m on Ibrahimovic then they obviously dont want & rate him highly enough to deserve him. Still more than the sort of lunatic who'd expect him to be happy playing alongside Denilson & Diaby every week though.
