As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

still at least i was there for that beautiful cureld effort v qpr. shame it was at the clock end if i remember corect
You remember wrongly (unless the effects of my medicinal marijuana has already kicked in!! ) As I remember it the goal was into the North Bank net after we were already 3-0 down to QPR on a very wet afternoon. I took my young nephew and we were in the Family Enclosure in the West Stand. We were staring right behind it as it curled into the net. Although we lost, I consoled him with the fact that at least he'd been there when Jensen finally scored!!!
Couldn't believe he came to us over Utd and Liverpool.
Biggest loss was when Chippy over there ← went to Italy.
That's why it has to be Charlie Nicholas for me as well. It wasn't that he went on to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. In truth he was too distracted by the bright lights! It was the fact that it's about the only signing I can ever recall us making where I was genuinely shocked that we beat off other bidders. For him to choose us over Liverpool at that time was stunning!!
My first thought like a lot of people would have been Supermac. Thinking back though I remember as a kid how good it was that we signed Alan Ball...a World Cup winner and all that!! £200k or something like that?!!

Yes North Bank indeed but in fact his goal made it 1-1...QPR then went on and banged in two more....
I'm sure we've had this thread before but it's Marinello for me too, £100,000 in 1970 was a lot of money mate Got even more excited when he put us 1-0 up at old trafford on his debut but it all went downhill from then on
I'm not sure.
The likes of Seaman, Lininghan and Limpar were good signings but I'd doubt I knew much about them before they joined.
Same with Ian Wright I don't think I was excited. I knew of Wright but was probably a little young to apprechiate the signing.
I think it may have to be Stefan Schwarz. As I think there was a World cup that year in which we got to see him.
Definately Berkcamp later down the line.
Boomer, your spelling is getting worse my friend...
