THE PROJOE TOTALLY POINTLESS TRANSFER RUMOUR THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I really have second thoughts about Hangeland. He´s too slow imo.
Vermaelen has enough pace to cover him.

They'd be perfect for each other, similar to Ferdinand-Vidic.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to tempt Newcastle with a £5m bid to land defender Steven Taylor, despite strong interest from Premier League champions Chelsea, Aston Villa and Everton. Full story: Sunday Mirror

But Wenger could miss out on Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega with Martin O'Neill ready to battle to bring him to Villa Park. Full story: Sunday Mirror

I for one hope it happens - So many players we could off load this season and apart from Cesc no one in our midfield is as good!

The only things that give this story any credence are a) Chairman Peter Hill-Wood’s links with The Star, and b) the fact that, as far as I’m aware, Cole has yet to appear in the Arsenal.com abomination that is the ‘transfer linked’ section. Both 7amkickoff and Arseblog have made the point that publicising a link with a player in official channels could be considered confirmation that we have no real interest.

Cole would be an interesting signing. With the likes of Rosicky, Wilshere, Arshavin and Nasri all operating in a similar role it would lead me to wonder if someone is going to be on their way. If Cesc goes, Nasri might replace him in the middle with Cole starting out-wide. Equally, perhaps Andrey Arshavin will be offloaded to Barcelona, as this morning’s Spanish papers suggest.

Arsene was a great admirer of Cole during his time at West Ham, and only a few weeks ago he called him an “interesting targetâ€

No problem.

FYI, once the romuer has faded, and the player we were linked with signs for our rivals, becomes one of the best players in the world and Wenger then says we nearly singed him!

The romuer is further upgraded to a rheumatoid.

On a footnote to all this, didnt Wenger say he wanted to do all his business before the world cup, or was that all bullshit.
