Youan Gourcuff - Bordeaux.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... or-Yo.html

We get linked with so many players that sooner or later they run out of players and start the old ones again

For my money would be an excellent signing.

This has to be the stupidest transfer rumour of the lot, they even more or less state why it won't happen in the last sentence of the story. Must have been a slow transfer news day at the Mirror

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Tr ... 43041.html

FFS he only scored 13 goals all season...why would we want one more un-prolific striker to go with Bendtner,Chamakh,Eddie and Vela. :banghead: :banghead:

I am not advocating his signing but I would suggest that he would bring more pace to the team than the other 5 (inc rvp) combined  We are embarrassingly slow up front

Joe Cole refuses to rest as Arsenal and Spurs lead the chase for Chelsea schemer
Fabio Capello gave his England players two days off but Joe Cole reported to Chelsea’s training ground yesterday to keep himself ticking over for the World Cup.

Cole, 28, is expected to be named in Capello’s 23-man squad today and has told his representatives he does not want to make a final decision on his future until he returns from the tournament in South Africa. The midfielder’s Chelsea contract expires at the end of this month. The prospect of Cole returning to Stamford Bridge afterwards appears to be receding with Chelsea chasing Liverpool’s Yossi Benayoun.

Manchester United are understood to have also cooled on Cole, leaving Tottenham and Arsenal at the front of a queue of many clubs.

Chelsea have made no effort to resume contract talks since the end of the season, although club captain John Terry has urged them to keep him.

Terry said: ‘We’d love him to stay. It would be nice to get Joe sorted before the World Cup but sometimes it’s not as easy as that.

‘We’ve got a massive tournament and we’ve got a manager who doesn’t want any distractions.’

I would welcome the chance of cole and Gourcuff, and i think the team would benifit with the 2 of them and cesc going.
Wenger is blinded by cesc and plays the team around him, without cesc he has no chnace but to change. Come on wenger pull it out the hat and restore faith.
If not fuck off!!!

Colquelin on loan as sweetener for Koscielny?

Post by IrishJB »

Rumours that we're preparing to offer Francis Colquelin on loan to the French Club Lorient in the hope they will sell us CB Laurent Koscielny...

Sorry, but got to disagree here.

I only want to see these players join IF Cesc leaves. Do I think they are good enough to replace him...no. Cesc is and will be for the next few years one of the best players in the world.

If we don't get a choice to keep him, then fair do's but we should be doing everything we can to keep Cesc

good point mate, however if cesc stays these 2 players, and any other player even slightly world class will not be bought into our team.

the last few years we have a team built around cesc and thats the only reason players like denilson, diaby rosiscky ect are in the team.
I really feel the team can be stronger if we get some new players to replace cesc.
If he stays wenger will say "cesc is like a new signing, ramsey has signed and he is like a new contract....

Then were back to square one, denilson, diaby, walnut, bendybus, eboue but dont worry we have cesc to carry the team.

Please dont let this be true, tho it was on caught off side .com

Not another small midget midfielder!!!!!!! exactly what we need to get those high balls, and defending agianst rory fucking delap!

Arsenal are reportedly considering a move for Lyon’s impressive defensive midfielder Jean Makoun this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to bring in more experienced players to add to his youthful Emirates squad. The Gunners boss has been impressed with Alex Song’s rise to prominence but is still looking for reinforcements to help beef up his midfield.

Makoun moved to Lyon from Lille in the summer of 2008 but has seen the perennial Ligue 1 champions, who had won the domestic title seven successive times before the Cameroonian international arrived, experience something of a dip in form finishing the past two seasons in third and second respectively.

Wenger is known to be an admirer of the tigerish battler and is apparently ready to make a bid in the region of £15m for the 27 year old who will be on show at the World Cup this summer. Although of slight build and only 5ft 8in in height the Lyon man has developed a reputation as a tough customer and has also developed an eye for crucial goals and came to the attention of many with his fine finish against Real Madrid that saw the French side topple the La Liga giants in the knock out stages of the Champions League last season.

10.30 There are a couple of interesting stories in the French press regarding possible targets for Arsenal. Le Foot Hebdo suggests Arsene Wenger could once again raid Bordeaux, having already signed Marouane Chamakh, and try to bring in midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. Marseille's Cameroon international Stephane Mbia is thought to be another player on Wenger's radar.
