I think it could be great for Coquelin, because he needs to play, and it's a good Club for him. Lorient isn't far from his family at Laval, that would make sens.

And Koscielny was one of the best center back in the french league last season, I didn't know him because I don't follow much the french league but he's been quite impressive this season according to french press.

Of course, I think he would be a cover, a 3th or 4th choice in the center back's position. He's got no experience, so I dont see him start with Arsenal. If he signs, he'll be more Silvestre replacement than Gallas's.

Silvestre replacement-I like the sound of that! Although my aunt would be a cheaper option to replace silvestre as she's probably much better than him!

Im not sure Cygan was actually as bad as people made out, he was ok when he played Centre half, even weighed in with a few goals here and there, it was when he played full back he was awful, but thats because he wasnt suited to it one bit

North London Rivals Set For Battle to Sign Man City Starlet
Tottenham will face stiff competition from North London rivals Arsenal for the signature of Manchester City defender Micah Richards, according to reports. Harry Redknapp has been considering making an offer for Richards who has seen himself fall down the pecking order at Eastland’s. However Arsene Wenger sees Richards as the perfect player to give the Gunner’s defence a more solid look following some poor performances during the latter stages of last season’s Premier League and, with a large transfer kitty at hand, Wenger could move for the U21 International for a cut-down price.

Media speculation has suggested that Roberto Mancini is willing to part company with the defender for a fee believed to be in the region of £9 million. With the news today revealing that Man City are set to sign Jerome Boateng from Hamburg for a fee of £10.5 million, it is looking increasingly likely that Richards will be allowed to jump ship and rumours flying round have linked Spurs with a bid, especially now that they will be involved in qualifying for a spot in next year’s Champions League.

I accept that when it comes to a financial shoot out the shower from middle eastlands will blow us away but boatang is available for 10.5m ffs :x Man shitty have the financial clout to buy all bar the very pinnacle of the who's who in world football and they believe boatang is of the requisite quality so why are we not interested ? :? I know it is only paper talk but wouldnt it be typical if we were to sign a player than shitty want to get rid of when his replacement is available for an extra 1.5m ? Then again we are the club that refused to cough up the extra 1m to sign alonso two summers ago   :banghead:

He was not very good TBH, but not as bad as some make out. He was quite good in the air and chipped in with some top notch headed clearances. But he was super slow and was often caught on the ball and panicked into silly mistakes. He had a few high profile disasterous games and that has made him seem a bit worse than he was, in fairness.

He was still shit though. :-P

Like Senderos.

I think we can justifiably say that he was bad because you compare him to the players he was playing with, and the standards you expect from an Arsenal defender (well, used to), and he fell well short. In addition, you have to judge these guys how they tend to fare in all situations. Nice and comfortbale on the ball but when he had to turn, or use pace, then he was barrel full of shit. And that is after all, more important than looking pretty( )

projoe wrote:10.30 There are a couple of interesting stories in the French press regarding possible targets for Arsenal. Le Foot Hebdo suggests Arsene Wenger could once again raid Bordeaux, having already signed Marouane Chamakh, and try to bring in midfielder Yoann Gourcuff. Marseille's Cameroon international Stephane Mbia is thought to be another player on Wenger's radar.

I can't imagine bordeaux will sell anyone to us after knicking chamakh, not for a reasonable fee anyway so i doubt that will happen.
