THE WORST PLAYER TO WEAR AN ARSENAL SHIRT!

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

For a start we wouldnt have won the League but would have won the FA Cup with a jammy last minute winner by Paddy in the semi!

This chap signed in a blaze of publicity. Fancy suit, all blinged out.
Gave it large in the press about, "I am gonna score loads, be a legend, etc, etc."

When it came to the crunch, he around for half a game, but did not touch the ball even once! Awful player.

Yet still had more impact than Bischoff!!!  The truth is that the only thing that stopped him fulfilling that initial potential is that he went a bit nuts!!!!
He was grey, we have signed a red squirrel !

Thats because he never played for us he was sold before he even got a game in exchange for Kenny Sansom

Joined this one late and can't be arsed to read the previous 7 pages....

Did anyone already mention John Matthews....? Looked totally out of place on a football pitch and made me feel much better about my own feable efforts on a Sunday morning!!

To be ultra-diplomatic and loyal to the club and its players, I'll nominate this chap as the worst player to ever wear an Arsenal shirt:

See what I did there?

Yes - very, very wrong!!!

Assuming you genuinely don't know, the reason Red Snapper nominated Clive Allen was precisely because of what you mentioned - that despite signing him for £1m, he literally didn't play for us. Therefore, essentially he was having a laugh when saying Clive Allen.

Paul Gorman for me I think he only play 5 or 6 times in the early 80's. I remmember us losing 1-0 away at Cov with him in midfield!!!!. I think he was dropped after that game for Meade to play out of position in midfield(perhaps thats why a few are saying Meade was rubbish???)

Oh and the team for the Cov game Wood, Hollins, Sansom, Talbot, Devine, Young, Gorman, McDermott, Sunderland, Robson, Rix and the sub was Meade
