Joe Cole is a greedy chav *word censored*!!!!!

It's all a load of Cannonballs in here! This is the virtual Arsenal pub where you can chat about anything except football. Be warned though, like any pub, the content may not always be suitable for everyone.

Joe Cole will be a great signing and he may spark a bit of a English contignent wanting to sign with us.

Also Coles main issue with Chelsea is playing out of his preferred central mid position so IF he came he could be keeping Diaby or Denilson out in that role next to Cesc where i think we do need strengthening.

Could be quite an unexpected midfield duo but would be more interesting than watching Diaby/Denilson come of age in that role for another season!

I know we are in far more need of a GK,CB and even another DCM, but i also know that although we have a number of possible wide options at the club already Cole is either equal to or a step up in talent
I would not stress the word "Even". We only have one senior defensive midfielder at the club, Alex Song.

Whilst Eastmond looked promising, he is still at the early part of the learning curve, and needs to add physical strength if he is compete week in week out.

Another, (more mobile) defensive midfielder is a major requirement in my opinion.

I would be happy with adding Joe Cole though. An improvement on players we already have in similar positions.

It's possible, Wenger tried to copy Barcas formation and style last season so it's quite possible he is thinking of playing Cole and Cesc in the middle together, Cesc playing the Xavi role and Cole playing the Iniesta role with Song or preferably Yaya sitting deep behind them.
Then you could have Chamakh through the middle Arshavin to his left and Rvp to his right that would be the strongest front five in this country :D ..Then it's just a matter of getting the defensive areas sorted...

But thats the difference, your talking about us needing cover in that position, in other positions we need a first choice, not cover.
Ideally we would have some one better than Song and Song would play along side or be the back up to him, but GK is far more pressing a need as is CB and will be even more so if Gallas goes...

No. I am not talking about cover.

I have posted a few times about this and I will say again as you might not have read them.

I want us to get a mobile "Essien" style midfield ballwinner to play as well as Song.

If we play three in the midfield, then it would be Song sitting deep, with Cesc/Ramsey to one side doing the creative stuff, and the Essien type player pressing the game, winning the ball, mixing it up, adding tempo to the side, dropping back if need be when Song makes the occasional forward run.

I don't think that would be a problem, the problem would be if we wanted to pay the money for him or if he preferred or had better offers elsewhere. At the moment he is sharing his position with two other players at Barca, so it's odds on he's on his bike somewhere this summer, i doubt if barca will have much say in where if the fee is met...

I get ya, that would be nice... but at the moment a more pressing need than a GK or CB, i don't know about that...

Looks like he's on his way to Spurs, the crooks shouting it about.

Again John Cross from The Mirror is adamant he's not coming to Arsenal. So looks like its not going to happen
